The Indianpolis Colts used to have a punter named Hunter Smith. His nickname was “Hunter the Punter.”
I remember in the late 70s a newspaper having a best joke contest. One guy sent in (I think he was the winner) a bunch of names appropriate for the job they do. For example, the author of “How to Soundproof Your Bathroom” by John Fuller Noyes. Another I remember and related to this thread was, Jack Strop, the NFL’s number one ball carrier.
