**swampy **- it’s foggy here, too, but not excessively - at least not at the house. No clue what FCD encountered on his way to work.
<accepting award> I want to thank all the insignificant nobodies who made this day possible. Bask in my glory, losers!!!
Up, don’t wanna be.
Got an email from a friend I don’t like (the email, not the friend). Having a fight between thw brain & the heart over what to do.
He’s right, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it. Stoopit reasoning.
My givadammer is on the fritz again.
**BBBobbio **- time to get it into the shop for an overhaul, ya think?
Maybe, but I don’t give a damn.
Feeling VERY crabby today. Yesterday was not a thing of joy at irk, and I expect carryover fallout today. Throw in averaging MAYBE 5 hours of sleep a night for the last couple of nights, sinus headache, and sulky DH, plus this being the first of two days in a row where I’ll be leaving around 0630 and not getting home until around 2100…
A veritable Judgement of Solomon.
:dubious:
The fog is sorta lifting, but it’s really dreary outside. I’m showered and dressed, but I’m finding it difficult to get motivated to do anything. Gray days after a short night don’t make for much productivity.
An infusions of chocolate perhaps??
Blurf.
Today is a new day.
I hope I’ll get more done today.
Other than that, I got nothin’.
Oh joy of joys. I can see lawn. Still much white, but patches of green.
rosie, not to rub it in ( ) but the only white on my lawn is where we’d piled the stuff we shoveled, and most of that is about gone in this rain.
It’s not raining at the moment, but it looks as if it could any time now. ugh.
I am awake and grouchy. Approach at your own risk.
Our relaunch at work went OK but we found two major issues in the building redesign. The break room is the “far” side of security from the work floor. With how the metal detectors and usual stuff slowed up the process, for most of us out 10 minute break was more like 3 minutes. And the break room has no water fountain/cold water. Free high-test coffee but that doesn’t help us who aren’t allowed to drink it for medical or religious reasons. Which means going back through security to the work floor to get a drink and then through security again to get back to the break room. I’ve already let management know I would prefer my breaks just sitting along the wall somewhere instead of the fancy new room. I’m not sure how they feel about me having that opinion.
ruble, your breakroom situation sounds sucky and possibly runs afoul of labor laws. My own irkplace installed a smaller breakroom at the opposite end of the plant that doesn’t require leaving the secured area for this reason. There are a few vending machines, H20, coffee and tea available and tables to sit at.
Got the oil changed and new wiper blades on the truck last night. Now my windshield actually gets the rain wiped off all of it. Irk is running along with only the glitch of getting someone from IT to replace a toner cartridge (they don’t trust us mere mortals to do this).
Happy hump day!

And here I am, able to replace toner, but can’t be trusted to change wiper blades. Last time I bought new blades, I thought I’d been snookered into buying the worst blades ever, until I discovered the new blades had protective plastic sleeves that were entirely non-obvious to someone changing blades in a dark parking lot. :smack:

Hopefully they can add a water cooler in half a jiffy. A future upgrade to a fountain is optional, but water is one of those things OSHA can get a bit fussy about when it’s not readily available. I am a bit unclear on religious aversions to coffee.
Howdy Y’all! I survived my foray to the south forty. I left a little early this mornin’ due to the big time fog and I’m glad I did. I also encountered an overturned semi that managed to block all four lanes of a four lane road. Fortunately it was just before a road I could turn off on and make a detour of about a mile to get back to the main road. The Jawja State Patrol was on the scene along with the local Sheriff’s department to show people how to do the detour which I already knew cause ya know, I am from around heah. I shall seek out the local nooze to see if I can find any details of the overturned semi.
gotti offhand, Mormons are supposed to abstain from all forms of caffeine. I have never known a Mormon who did so, but I’m told that’s a rule. Of course if anyone would hang around rogue Mormons that would be me.
ruble you need to make a stink about that. Why would a break room be outside of a secure area causin’ employees to have to exit and enter the work area a few times a day. DUH!
Oh and it’s cloudy out but eighty degrees Amurrkin. YAY!
What have I accomplished today?
[ul]
[li]Cleaned the rotisserie (icky job)[/li][li]Loaded the dishwasher[/li][li]Changed FCD’s PT appointment (at his request - not just randomly )[/li][li]Cleaned the cat box (ick)[/li][li]Scrubbed the toilets and sinks upstairs (ick)[/li][/ul]
In truth, that was maybe an hour’s work, going slowly. I managed to drag it out till 3 this afternoon.
Happy Hump Day!
It’s a cloudy 57 degrees outside, happy on the temp, not so happy at the lack of sunshine.
I wish I was seeing green Rosie but so far all I see is brown.
Soon I’ll be able to open the windows at last for a little bit each day.
I took a nice nap this afternoon. I felt like I need it and for as long as I slept I guess I did.
Thank you for the nomorobo idea Gotti and the Google Voice MsRobyn I’m going to check them out. I’m scored once this week with Great Stuff, maybe one of those two will work for me.
I need to get moving and salvage what is left of the day.
Betcha they say it turned over.
I was around enough Mormons this weekend. I was interested in seeing your sights & maybe a little bit of your history, not in being converted. Some tourists are just tourists & not religious pilgrims.
But otherwise, a breakroom with coffee & no cold drinks is not a room I’d ever visit; probably prefer to hang around with the converter folks.
On our floor, the men’s room is at the end of the common hallway but the women’s room is on our floor. So guys need their access card to return from the loo but not the gals. Gender discrimination???
I’ve heard some Rastafarians avoid caffeine.
I met up with a friend today. A good friend from out of town.
Howdy Y’all! Irk is over for the day. Two more to go. Come on Firday! We shall go to the church house this evenin’ to partake of the Agape soup 'n sammich cause, well, we should, and plus, throw in a couple bucks each and dindin is made!
MOOOOOOM stretchin’ an hours work into several hours work is a skilled you honed in civil service. It’s a good skill to stay up on in case you do decide to re-enter the irkforce.
Personally, I avoid the avoidance of caffeine.
