I thought it was a decent episode, although I sometimes feel it’s kind of hokey to have one season end on a big cliffhanger and then resolve it in the very first episode of the next season.
Yeah, very un-Trek. 
I appreciated that they returned to the basic joke of the series,
The Lower Deckers really have no idea what is going on with senior staff. Everything worked out despite their shenanigans.

Creator Mike McMahan explained in The Ready Room that with so few episodes in a season they didn’t want to waste time getting the Captain back.
Yes, complete with exposition about the extremely dramatic events that happened somewhere else entirely.

The season 3 premier is available on youtube (some ads (and some are skippable) but less than broadcast TV). Liked Bradward being oblivious to flirting, the theme park, and lots more.

Allright…i’ve been paying for CBS or Paramount plus or whatever this is on for a month now…you all have convinced me to watch.
