Star Trek Lower Decks

She was Mistress of the Winter Constellations or Mistress of the North Wind or something along those likes.

Mistress of the Winter Constellations

You must be right. The Mistress of the North Wind was a Theban priestess of the 19th Dynasty, not a space pirate.

I love the fact that there’s a Self-Aware Megalomaniacal Computer Storage warehouse in this series. It does solve a lot of problems.

I thought it was about the worst episode so far, but that was a nice touch at the end.

The Peanut Hamper episode just landed with a thud for me. It reminded me of the first handful of episodes where I found Mariner insufferable. PH wasn’t funny to me. Just mean and unpleasant to watch.

I feel they stretched the joke too thin. If this were an A-plot with some standard Mariner and Boimler hijinks as the B-plot I think it would have worked better.

But she had a good point about the name “Sky-Snake”.

My universal translator can’t make your language less stupid!

Yeah, I think the showrunners really overestimate the appeal of Peanut Hamper. There can be value in a character who’s just kind of an unrepentant bitch (especially when everyone in Starfleet is so virtuous) but don’t hang an entire story on her.

Kudos to the show for not shying away from birdman-on-exocomp sex though.

Anyone else disappointed they teased us with Dr Migleemo, but didn’t even give him a single line of dialog? It felt like an odd choice given the plotlube.

Another episode like that and I’m tuning out for good. Thought I was watching a Robot Chicken Bitch Pudding reject epi.

Even a Robot Chicken Bitch Pudding reject episode would be good…that said Im only on S1E4

Just stopped in to say I love how the theme is a combination of TNG-Then TAS-Then Galaxy Quest. Makes perfect sense.

Also I commented on the Trek inaccuracy thread how a lot of what the crew does doesn’t make much sense…hilariously, its Lower Decks that makes a lot of sense.

They’ve explained some stuff that no other show would dare to suggest. Why don’t we see that awesome technology again that we just saw last week? Well, in the case of Lower Decks, it would mean the crew of the spa ship would have to get real jobs so they kicked it out an airlock!

I thought it was the best episode of the season so far, and one of the best of the series. The rug pull at the end when they play the message back was fucking superb. And I don’t think I’ve laughed as hard at any joke in the series as I did at the exocomp-birdman sex scenes, except maybe at the Boimler’s asshole scene from the episode with the corrupt exam proctor.

This week’s episode totally made up for that bitch of a Peanut Hamper last week. It was a treat seeing Captain Sulu again.

I laughed out loud several times during the episode. “We don’t want any… witnesses.”

I had to actively rewind/replay several times due to laughter…

The V’ger callback was a hoot.

I saw it pointed out online that in one scene Mariner steps over the letter box bar (they used a different aspect ratio for the “movie” scenes). I wish I had noticed that because it’s hilarious.

I noticed her stepping over something when she exited the holodeck, but I missed what it was!
