Star Trek Picard Season 3 discussion (open spoilers)

Ah, OK. Except when used by declared renegades, so we have plausible deniability…

I swear…SWEAR I had heard Denise Crosby was in the show. I kept waiting for Sela to show up to the rescue, or to help and (Why she would help I dunno)…and cheekily saying “You are in violation of the Treaty of Algeron and I am here for your cloaking device”

As for shields…DS9 held up for quite a while against a fleet and its much smaller then that Earth one and it was some 30 years ago

Shouldn’t poor Miles O’Brien got at least a cameo?

Surely by now in the ongoing technological battle of measure vs countermeasure, federation scientists would have come up with a cloak detector? In fact, didn’t Riker activate one at his Rustic Retreat in series one?

Oh well, this is Star Trek, not hard science fiction…

Or really tick people off and have Reginald Barkley swoop in and save everybody at the last minute.

With, of course, a cure which is ultimately worse than the disease…

Okay, so the day is then saved by Pulaski.

No, her antidote didn’t work. She died as a result of drinking the tea in Worf’s tea ceremony.
Oh well, enough. This is getting silly.

I don’t see why it couldn’t have been Pavel himself. He’d be 156, which seems to me a reasonable 25th Century life expectancy. But “Anton” was a nice tribute.

We saw her trapped inside her little holographic cube thing when Data weaponized his memories to sneak attack Lore with love and a kitty.

Need a little help, and apparently closed captioning isn’t available. Scene: Data in a session with Troi. It ends (finally!), and he and Troi walk to the door. It opens, Riker is there, asks Data how he’s feeling/doing. Data says, “I’m okay” and leaves. Riker grins at Troi and says two words. Again, no closed caption help, and I’ve tried to catch exactly what he said several times. At most, I think I get that the second word is ‘patches’.

Anyone hear that clearly and can help an old man out?

“He still batshit?”

Give an old man a fish, he eats for the day. Teach an old man to fish

(If soft subtitles exist for something, you can probably find them there. And yes, the “batshit” line is correct.)

And what did the Romulans agree to do or not to do in return?

Destroy the Federation.

So it wasn’t so much a treaty as it was a capitulation. And the federation felt a moral obligation to uphold it for centuries, receiving nothing in return.

As always, it’s a wonder they survived.

Are the Romulans really that powerful? Riker & his fleet saw them off in season 2…

Have you watched Strange New Worlds? I don’t want to spoiler it if you haven’t, but an alternate timeline in the ST:TOS era showed the Romulans would have erased the Federation if they decided to.
