Star Trek Strange New Worlds trailer and now begins Streaming 2022/05/09

She could of run when the phaser was on overload “No, i cant. If this is important to you i cant”

But yes at the end of the day she stayed.

Whats really weird is how at the end how gracious the Talosians are to her and Pike. But…aliens. Alien values

I think it was “didn’t have the heart to retire him”

Well, I finally finished the season. I loved it. Best Star Trek season since maybe season 2 of TOS, if you just counted the ten best episodes of that season (there are always going to be stinkers when you have to crank out 23 eps per season).

I recently watched Balance of Terror again, and that made this episode quite fun. It was full of easter eggs and dialog from BOT, slightly tweaked for the new situation. Hearing Scotty’s voice was a hoot: I wonder if Hemmer is going to be replaced by Scottie next season, and that’s the new actor’s voice. If so, it’s a dead on impersonation.

One disappoinment: the new Romulan commander was no Mark Lenard.

Really looking forward to season 2.

There is talk that there will be a crossover event in Season 2 of Strange New Worlds with… Lower Decks?! And that it’ll be animated?

Jesus, I love me some Lower Decks, but this is running the risk of getting your chocolate into my peanut butter.

This is a cool side by side of this episode and the original Balance of Terror from TOS.

A lot of it was a shot-for-shot remake of the original, right down to camera angles and lighting effects, with Pike in the Kirk role. And Spock and Uhura act more like the original actors. All in all, a real labor of love and tribute to the original.

If only they had hired the same actor who played Sarek in Discovery.

Heh. That would have been great

I just watched all of Strange New Worlds. I immediately have to rate this as the second best series and closest to the Original Series. Really excellent and well done.

I’m in season one of Discovery and it is not great. Episode 1 of Picard was actually terrible. Lower Decks is very fun though. Of the 80s and 90s shows, only Deep Space 9 wasn’t meh.

Not a fan of crying and whispering?

I suffered through it. Believe it or not, it gets a lot better. That first season was awful. I can’t say Discovery ever becomes great, but from Season 2 on it was enjoyable to me.

It doesn’t hold a candle to Strange New Worlds though.

I thought Season 1 was promising and then it pretty much went downhill from there. The Burn plot was excruciating and made me give up on the show.

I couldn’t even finish Season 2 of Picard. Season 1 was shaky, but Season 2—what I watched of it—was intolerable.

I rode the fast-forward button through Picard S2. Everything involving his backstory was so boring and unnecessary.

Same here. Though, the last season actually was pretty decent.

Basically Lorca was the best part of the show and once he was gone, it really wasnt’ as interesting

Apparently Carol Kane is joining Strange News Worlds for season 2.

Recurring role as Chief Engineer Pelia. Highly educated and intelligent, the Enterprise 's new senior engineering officer suffers no fools. Pelia solves problems calmly and brusquely, thanks to her many years of experience.

Holy cow, Carol Kane looks about 50 or less in that photo. She’s 70.

Any guesses as to what the insignia on her uniform represent? The starfleet ‘A’ has what looks like a Klingon or some other symbol on it, and I don’t recognize the other pin.

I can’t make it out.

But she seems like a good addition to a really good show.

She was in The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (on Netflix) not that long ago, she looked pretty good then too. She seems to be keeping really good care of herself. Which is good, I really enjoy her as a performer, she’s very funny and likeable. “I’m not a witch, I’m your wife!”

Well at least we know we’re some time away from Scotty joining the crew.

I’m sure Kane will be terrific, but I’m very annoyed that they killed of Hemmer, who was a really great character.
