Surprisingly, a search did not find this film’s title in any Subject. While it’s a couple of years old, just watched the DVD last night, and was really impressed. Outsanding film with excellent acting and a unique screenplay. Not a special effect in sight. Just some wonderful characterizations.
Very touching and with some unexpected humor now and then. Well worth watching.
An interesting little story that only somewhat relates to the thread. I saw this movie and really liked it (I think, at the Toronto Film Festival a couple years ago). I became a fan of Peter Dinklage right afterward.
That christmas I was walking around a local mall and I saw him and of course I started to stare because I don’t run accross many famous actors in everyday life. The girl I was with was mortified because I was staring at a little person and she told me as much but I said, “NO, you don’t understand, THAT’s PETER DINKLAGE.”
Cute story, drm.
I very much enjoyed The Station Agent..
I saw a preview awhile back that appeared to have Peter Dinklage in it. Can’t remember what the preview was for though.
Dinklage also has a wonderful extended cameo in The Baxter as a snooty wedding planner. He’s not in the movie for very long, but he’s hilarious. I loved the silent, mouthed “Call me” after he notices that the lead, male, character is wearing women’s underwear (innocently obtained, really), and then treating Brooklyn as if it’s Outer Siberia.
The Baxter, btw, is a nice minor film. Not great, not fantastic, but cute and enjoyable, as long as your expectations are not that it’s going to bowl you over with brilliance and laughter. It’s sweet. I’m a sucker now for anything with Michelle Williams in it, and she’s a doll in this.
