I have 3 sites that I frequent so I’ll have something on my sign{s} about them so I hope to say hello to folks from those sites. A little SDMB on a sign would be awesome.
My dream of a perfect day at the rally would be to be interviewed by one of their reporters and make onto the show saying something off the wall.
Now I’m thinking of a couple more signs.
On one side:
“MY THOUGHT ABOUT AMERICA WON’T FIT ON A SIGN”
On the other – I’m not sure yet, but it will be in really small print (say, 6 point) that can’t possibly read at a distance, and will be some kind of long rambling manifesto, that no one will read anyway. After the first paragraph or so, maybe just fill to the end of the placard with “blah blah blahs”.
I’ve just experienced my first disappointment about this rally. I signed up for email alerts about the rally, and I just got one – but it has virtually nothing to do with the rally. It’s about Bill O’Reilly’s appearance on the show the other night, and the welcome Jon arranged for him. The only news about the rallly was that O’Reilly wouldn’t be attending – big surprise.
I think they just threw the emails that signed up for rally information onto the general distribution list for the show.
O’Reilly’s excuse is actually a valid one for Stewart’s purposes: if he came then Fox could always claim it was O’Reilly that drew the crowd. Did anybody else get that the animosity O’Reilly expressed for Beck was, while less than fully sincere perhaps, also more than just jest? Ditto Stewart’s for Tucker Carlson.
I couldn’t believe the clip Jon showed on Monday’s show. “Any comic who says ‘I’m here to speak for people who have no voice’ is no longer a comic” my ass. That’s what a comedian does, they make fun of those in power and highlight unpleasant truths with humor! It’s like a couple years back when Fox attempted to deride Jon for being a social commentator instead of a comedian. They’re the same thing, dingbats!
