Still not out on DVD

Brain Donors

I remember seeing this years ago as a kid. Not sure I really got into it then, but hearing others talk about it , it definitely sounds like something worth seeing.

D’oh, I just checked Amazon, and it looks like it is coming out Oct. 26th.

The Keep

I’ve been after this for ages, and you can only get it on NTSC VHS from the USA

I see Fist of the Northstar is finally coming out as a boxset over here after Mangas distributon company went bust a few months ago. I been waiting for that for fuck knows how long.
I wish they’d hurry up with the staggered Studio Ghibli DVDs here too. I waited 15 years for Laputa to finally come out.

It’s been mentioned over and over again but why isn’t The Tick, the animated series on DVD? There’s not that many episodes and it’s got a huge cultish following so it woudl do very well. Anyone know if there are any sort of legal hang-ups?

I could really use a bit of Shock Treatment.

All of these are TV series not movies but I would love to see Voyagers!, Misfits of Science, Max Headroom, and Wizards and Warriors on DVD.

My tapes of the original Max Headroom movie and the first four episodes of Wizards and Warriors are not holding up well at all after all these years :frowning:

Some Came Running, which is certain to appear on DVD eventually since it stars Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Shirley MacLaine.

Lily Tomlin’s Incredible Shrinking Woman.

The sketch comedy series The State, which is supposedly in the works.

And, on the subject of TV series, I’d buy DVDs of Rat Patrol, Herman’s Head and Gerry Anderson’s Four Feather Falls.

My Beloved just shouted from the bedroom that she’d love to see the old '60’s series The Champions . She just looooves Stuart Damon.

Song of the South ?

I’m actually surprised at how many rare movies are on DVD, considering how new the format is. Plus, new titles get released every week – just in the last six months, we’ve seen (or will soon see): After Hours, Duel, My Father’s Glory, Star Wars (well, sorta), D.A.R.Y.L., Ed Wood, Short Cuts, and Testament.

Hopefully we’ll soon see these as well:

Au Revoir, Les Enfants
The Butcher Boy
The Decline of Western Civilization II: The Metal Years
Duckman
(TV series)
The Earthling
Eddie Murphy: Delirious
Emergency!
(TV series)
Erik the Viking
Iceman
The Late Shift
Lost Angels
Lost Highway
Mastergate
My Own Private Idaho
North
The Other
Police Squad!
(TV series)
Rona Jaffe’s Mazes and Monsters
Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead
Second Best
Student Bodies
Twilight Zone: The Movie
Whore

Police Squad!

And sympathy votes for the Dungeons & Dragons cartoon and Brain Donors. I have the latter on VHS, but would donate one of your organs for an anamorphic DVD.

TV Shows:

Sam & Max: Freelance Police
HBO’s Real Sex and Shock Video
Cow and Chicken and I Am Weasel
Greg the Bunny’s coming out? Out-freakin’-standing. I loved that show.

Movies:

200 Motels and Uncle Meat. Sure, we got Baby Snakes and Does Humor Belong In Music?, but what the hell’s keeping those two from DVD?
I’ll second Delicatessen, too. Excellent movie.

Saw the dvd the other day in HMV and took me back a ways :stuck_out_tongue:
Must admit I’m tempted meself for the nostalgia effect. In any case, the whole series is coming out in the UK on the 18th…

DVD

The entire Ulysses 31 series just came out on DVD too, for all you 80s cartoon heads. £17.99 on Play

I’d pay good money for the entire set of Mysterious Cities of Gold, although theres about 150 episodes

‘children offffff the sun, see your time has just begun…’

Yeah, I bremember Ullyses, and Telema… telemach… telemasomthing, his son I think.

And don’t forget the entire set of “Battle of the Planets” is out too.

On a side note that “Keep” rings a bell for me. Is it THE Michael Mann that directed it?

The Beatles…Help…Magical Misery Tour…Let it Be…

Chip & Dale’s Rescue Rangers?

Yep. There’s also Thief he directed, with James Caan in it thats really good too. Put that, The Keep and Heat in a Mann boxset and i’m sold!

Fall 2005

The rest of Lindsay Anderson’s “Mick Travis Trilogy”. What’s odd is they have Britannia Hospital out on DVD but not if… or O Lucky Man. Although I’ve heard that they’re planning on a release for if…, I haven’t heard anything about OLM.
