Stockings/garters are, to me, gilding the lily.
I prefer to wear thigh high stockings, with a garter belt at times. They are more comfortable to me, and nicer looking in my opinion. The Mr. also appreciates them, a lot! I have to fend him off when getting ready to go out if he spots me laying them out. (I do explain to him that later, when we get home I won’t be such a wet blanket, for the record.)

The comfort of any given garmet is mostly a correct fit. I worked for LeggsHanesBaliPlatex years ago and it surprises me still how many people have no idea of their correct size and how little time they spend choosing hosiery. Buy stockings with an idea of what they are for. (Daily wear vs special occasion.)
I bought the best quality garter belt we sold in white and chocolate brown and still use them. I have several qualities of stockings that are great because 1) if you get a run in one, you only replace one and 2) some men get weak in the knees on discovery of said stockings. Half the fun of dressing up for dates was my “I’ve got a secret”.

How do you get a correct fit?
I always had trouble finding pantyhose that fit (I fall off the average sizes most stores carry and the tall ones I can find seem made for someone much skinnier than I) and I always wanted to try a garter and stockings but I haven’t the foggiest of where to start for size or even where to find them (other than the 3 or 4 garters I see at the Bay that I know would not fit). Garters just seem to me they’d be less.. annoying than pantyhose.

That is me to a T. I couldn’t of said it any better. I feel sexy wearing them…my little secret so to speak.
From my youth onward, yes, I love stockings and garters. When a lady reaches and her skirt exposes that band atop a stocking, or the garter clasp, it’s a reminder that things of beauty and delight reside just above.
I’ve never actually seen a woman in stockings and garters except in pictures, and they don’t really do anything for me. I’m not into the underwear scene.
