I’ve wondered if this ever happened. Apparently so. Stick em up!!! Oh wait, you’re Jack’s bro. Never mind.

This guy simply robbed the next store down the street.

Colorado thief recognizes clerk, gives him a thumbs-up

The unidentified man had entered the store in the Denver suburb, but suddenly had a change of heart.

“The suspect looked at the clerk and said, ‘(Expletive), I was going to rob this place but I know you,’” police said.

But then realizing the dilemma he had just put himself in, he asked if the clerk recognized him.

When the employee answered no, the thief replied “good,” gave the man a thumbs-up sign and walked out the store, police said.

I don’t see a long and happy future in crime for this dude. When the footage from the security cam is on the news, half the city will be calling in sooner or later.

This reminds me of a joke I just barely recall about going to the sperm bank to make a donation and finding your girlfriend (or ex?) is the technician there.

I remember decades ago a guy in Sydney robbed the bank where he had an account. This in the days when all your transactions took place face to face with a teller. When the police arrived the teller gave them the robber’s name and address. After he got out of prison he robbed the local supermarket where he regularly shopped. Same result.

Another guy robbed the bank next door to where he lived. His getaway was to walk next door in plain sight. Not surprisingly he was soon arrested.
