You’re right. And now with Muhsin on my team, I need Jake to be the real deal.
Does it seem as though Chris “no more cranky my” Weinke has made a career out of one good game two years ago? I don’t remember who Carolina was playing, and I don’t have time to look it up, but I remember he had one monster game as a rookie, and it’s been all downhill from there.
I think they figured that since he was already about 30 when he graduated from college, he should be mature and poised and they could make him a start. He was better than Randy Fasani, the poor bastard who I think made his only start against the TB defense. But how stupid do you have to be to take 10 years to graduate from Free Shoes U?
Sure, if you’d done this five minutes earlier it could have been Stitch sitting on the clock all night. I was surprised to wake up after five hours sleep and find that I’d been on the clock for almost six hours. I thought it must have been the nightcap.
Bates will definately have a better year, now that the Vikings have no illusions that Derrick Alexander has any talent. Bates will be a solid #2 from the get go. #3 is up for grabs. The vikings were considering trading or drafting a talented number 2, but failed. Look for my pick, tight end Chamberlain, to have a productive year as well.

my comment wasnt that bates wouldnt have a good year, only that he wouldnt “rebound”
yeah, portland is making it a series again. even if the lakers beat minnesota (which it looks like they will) i dont see them beating san antonio. but if they do, my kings will happily put trash talking shaq in his place.
btw, i just HAVE to post this somewhere… from ESPN.com
“Jones and Parcells set the tone by staying put in the first round and snatching cornerback Terence Newman, perhaps the rookie who will make the most immediate impact, when he dropped into their laps at the No. 5 overall spot. Newman, along with holdover veterans Derek Ross and Mario Edwards, should give the Cowboys one of the best young corner trios in the NFL.”
sniff sniff… i never thought i would see the day when the cowboys secondary would be highly regarded again.
