Does it seem as though Chris “no more cranky my” Weinke has made a career out of one good game two years ago? I don’t remember who Carolina was playing, and I don’t have time to look it up, but I remember he had one monster game as a rookie, and it’s been all downhill from there.

I think they figured that since he was already about 30 when he graduated from college, he should be mature and poised and they could make him a start. Bates will definately have a better year, now that the Vikings have no illusions that Derrick Alexander has any talent. Bates will be a solid #2 from the get go. #3 is up for grabs. The vikings were considering trading or drafting a talented number 2, but failed. Look for my pick, tight end Chamberlain, to have a productive year as well.
