Darn that nasty computer chooser. I wanted Fiedler for my backup.
Sorry for being a bit late, folks. My home BB connection was for sh&t this morning, and then I had lunch with my favorite five year old. All of his classmates want to come over and play now. After that was transit time, but the computer’s been wailing. More than half way through now.
And Gramatica is the rough equivalent of DeBerg, I suppose.
I just don’t understand how everyone is down on James Stewart. He outperformed a host of good RBs last year, and with Harrington having a year of experience under his belt, along with Mooch as head coach, I don’t see how he could get worse.
Collins was a great pick, as was Tom Brady. They were #8 and #7 among QBs last year, respectfully. C. Johnson was next on my list - he makes a fantastic 3rd WR.
As for Grammatica…
Agree that Johnson’s a good pick, although his value could actually decrease with a Marvin Lewis defense on the field.
As for Gramatica, the other league I play in the kickers are much more valuable, usually start going in the fourth-sixth rounds, so I always get antsy in these drafts were they’re a lot less valuable (and more interchangeable). Plus I thought that other WRs and RBs I might want will still be there later. I could well be wrong.
Stewart’s old, takes a lot of punishment, and has knee problems. He’s also terribly inconsistent.
Dammit. Santana Moss is a great pick. I considered taking him instead of Johnson, I’d much rather have him, but I thought there was a decent chance he’d still be available for my next pick. Nice take, Norfolk. Josh Reed was also on my list.
His value could decrease, but his cost at round 8 is free. His average draft spot on Antsports in 14 team leagues is round 4.
Well, Brees could really unwide with LT running and David Boston as a target. I do have the guy on the right team now, don’t I? The downside here is Schottenheimer.
done. camel’s turn.
Another downside is that he can’t throw very far. He’s a bye-week replacement. But Boston should improve his numbers, as should another year of experience.
Alstott’s a good take this late too.
Oh man, you guys are the only people I can talk about this with. Tom Condon, Williams agent, is telling the Vikings he wants #7 money. The problem? He also represents Leftwich, who was the #7 pick.
Does anyone see a conflict of interest? I’d be pissed if I were Leftwich.
I’m sure this has been covered already, but are we requiring a TE in this draft?
I think so, yeah.
Yup.

I propose that we assume the same lineup we did for the previous draft (QB RB RB WR WR TE PK DT), despite what’s listed on the site (“1 QB 1-2 RB 3-4 WR/TE 1 PK 1 DT,” whatever that means).
I think this is as close as we came to settling the TE issue.
Through almost 10 rounds, a couple of thoughts:
Best QBs:
-PUP with McNabb and Brunell. I’m not too high on Brunell, but Jimmy should run in a couple for him, and he’s a good enough backup to Mcnabb to get this team on this list.
-Camel Toes with Manning and Maddox. Both of these guys could be outstanding and Manning’s top 5.
Best RBs:
-Gotta name myself with Deuce, S. Davis, and W. Green. All three could easily be studs.
-Munch with Portis, Taylor, Stewart. If Stewart keeps his job and gets carries these are three solid performers at worst.
-Norfolk with LT, J. Lewis and Canidate. Lot of TDs in there.
Best WRs
-Stitch with Moulds, Boston, Stallworth, Reed. Moulds and Boston are both easily top 10 and Stallworth and Reed are capable or better.
-Mouthbreather with Harrison, Driver, K. Robinson. This is a sick squad. Add another half-decent backup and he gets the nod here.
-mrchan with Moss, J. Smith, Rice, Thrash. I don’t know if Rice has another big year in him but if so (and assuming Moss shows up, of course), this is a solid group.
Jeez, the computer just drafted Weinke for Hamlet. You’d think even a computer could do better than that. Who is the real QB for Carolina this year? They must have got somebody better than Weinke or Rodney “I’m older than Shibb, but my wife is a fox” Peete, right?
Jake Delhomme. roflol.
May be funny, but he can’t be any worse than Chris Weinke. And in all fairness the computer should have picked Cajun Man, I mean Delhomme, instead of Weinke for Hamlet. Not that it particularly matters.
Also, looks like Stitch is set for another all nighter. Good night.
Norfolk, good pick on Muhsin. I was hoping he’d fall to me. I think with a revamped Carolina offense he could put up decent #s this year.
Stitch just told me who to grab for him, so we are moving along.
Also, I think that ANT is using stats from the 2001 season for its rankings.
