Dammit, Matt, I want to know where you get all those quotes! I’m not asking again.
[sub]Okay, I’m sure I will if you don’t oblige this time.[/sub]
“Who is Gwar?” They’re a very weird band with very weird storylines and such. Let’s just say that.
(if either of those links doesn’t work, try Google)
F_X
Flamsterette_X is correct on who Gwar is. But, in this particular instance, “gwar?” just happened to be the first sound to tumble out of my mouth after reading that OP.
It’s a bar, I don’t think you need to worry.
The boards turned me to the dark side. I was a major fundie before I found the boards, and now I’m only a minor fundie.
(Perhaps TMI) I often find naive fundamentalists attractive myself. There is something about those who staunchly defend their different beliefs and the often childlike innocence that tends to make me melt.
sits back and waits for the first “So, H4e, how YOU doin’;)?” line
His4Ever
Yes! Yes! Yes! She’s changing! :Does the happy dance around the living room: Yes! Yes! Yes!
CJ
[insert “old enough, board-wise, to understand the other meaning of ‘changing’” joke here]
Ow! This thread makes my brain hurt.
Weird phenomenon. I can totally relate. I must admit to feeling a little pang of melancholy when WV_Woman gave us the old F.O. Although you could hardly describe her as childlike or innocent. She came across much more world-weary and cynical, which is sexy in its own way.
Enderw24, I rather suspected the “Gwar” was you making a confused gurgling sound, but I also thought you might be referring to another poster. I know the “band” Gwar (wouldn’t “performance artists” be more appropriate?), I didn’t think you were comparing me to them.
His4Ever, I promise to remain on my best behavior, and not try to turn you to the “dark side” (thanks ever so much, Jester).
she NOTICED me!!!
You need to get out more.
I think in WV_Woman described herself once. Sexy is the last word I’d use to describe her.
And put me in the ‘this strange attraction to His4ever makes my brain hurt’ column, please. Since I subscribe to the whatever-floats-your-boat school of thought, though, it’s all good.
When I first “met” His4Ever it was from reading her posts in this thread, and I was impressed by the fact that she seemed more rational and less judgemental than most of the fundamentalists I had previously met. I was disappointed when, in later threads, her posts began to exhibit the same “I’m better than you because I’m saved and you’re damned, if it’s in the Bible it’s God’s word and you can’t question it” attitude which always turned me off.
I opened this thread expecting some sort of twisted joke or pile-on, and was pleasantly surprised.
Oh, and cjhoworth, I am also impressed by fact that you took it upon yourself to assist H4E in acclimating to the SDMB, instead of writing her off as a “lost cause” when everyone else was flaming her. You are a True Christian[sup]TM[/sup]. I became an agnostic because of the actions of those who claim to be the only source of the Word of God, but I still respect the teachings of Jesus (whether He was Man or God) and wish there were more who would concentrate more on His messages of peace and love than on the messages of hate and division by those who claim to be His followers.
I ramble, and I must go. For some reason, they expect me to work while I’m at the office.
WHy does it say a different Op name now???
Uh, now now CJ, don’t do too much dancing. I haven’t really changed any. Just trying to change the way in which I present what I believe. The beliefs themselves haven’t changed. And there are probably certain conversations that I should just stay out of as many has said. I’m still a fundamentalist Christian but hopefully I can learn in time to share in a better manner. Bear with me. I know there are many beliefs represented here besides mine. I’ll try not to be overbearing but if asked my opinion on a particular subject, I will be truthful, but try to present it with God’s help in a better way. I have to go, they expect me to work here.
Because I asked TubaDiva to change my username, and she did it shortly after I made the OP.
good choice, too.
That puts you ahead of so many others, it’s not even funny. Stick around, try to keep up with the exchange ideas. Try and see that we aren’t insane for believing differently from you.
[sub]We may be insane, but that’s not why!:p[/sub]
Ah Lel, but you’ve never experienced the true horror of me + women in bars.
No kidding? Oh wow.
Wow, it’s like a Twilight Zone episode of Dharma and Greg!
I can’t wrap my mind around this.
Ouch, dammit!!! <stubs toe trying to do the happy dance>
