Strangest or grossest thing you've seen online

I recently heard about the Mexican sandwich called “ahogado”, which is sort of a French dip done Mexican-style: dipped into a red chili sauce rather than au jus.

I Googled the term ahogado, and that’s when I discovered that the term means “drowned”. Some of the first images I saw were of horrific bloated drowned people which had been posted on Mexican news feeds. They are not shy of publishing gruesome death images front and center in their newspapers.

I was gonna post about rotten(dot)com before I read this post. It’s still there and still as gross as ever.

I used to spend a bit of time on rotten dot com back in the '90s. I still pop in occasionally for old time’s sake, but last I checked (probably a couple years ago) they hadn’t really updated much.

One of the grossest things I’ve seen was supposedly a shot of a guy following a motorcycle accident–the whole lower part of his face was pretty much gone, but the guy was still alive and sitting up. I found out later that it was actually a botched shotgun suicide. Dunno if the guy survived, but I think he did.

A couple episodes of the show “1001 Ways to Die” grossed me out pretty bad too–one with a guy who somehow managed to vacuum out his guts, and another one with a couple of guys riding on a pallet being dragged behind a forklift. Something went wrong and one of the guys was pulled in half, showing his upper half dragged along the street with his guts hanging out. I think they were based on real cases, but some of the stuff on that show was pretty farfetched.

I agree…a lot of that stuff seemed like urban legends. Some of those deaths were so outlandish I’m surprised they didn’t make the news.

This thread’s pretty gross, and it’s all text. It’s also reminded me of some real horrors I’ve accidentally seen, please, someone pass the brain bleach.

1 lunatic 1 icepick, the Luka Rocco Magnotta murder video.

I’ve seen that, chizzuk. But I’m an EMT. Unusual, disgusting things interest me.

I didn’t have to see it – the reaction videos were enough. shudder
(Who else has some perverse urge to google this stuff?)

The 3 guys 1 hammer video repulsed me to no end.

No love for Divine and dog poop?

That was the second movie I got from Netflix. That scene is the LEAST outrageous thing in the whole movie.

I first heard of “Pink Flamingos” in a book about cult movies; the story started out, “John Waters must have gotten the idea one day that he would like to make movies that were so bizarre, the reviewers would look like perverts for having sat through them.”

I was gonna say that one (and did in the other recent thread on this subject).

But what’s really interesting about it to me isn’t the video itself (which shows a guy murdering his boyfriend, dismembering the body, and having sex with it as well as feeding parts of it to his dog - I couldn’t stomach watching the whole thing), but the fact that they actually charged the owner of the Bestgore website, Mark Marek, with the very rare charge of “corrupting public morals” for simply having published the video on his site (the guy who did the murder and actually made the video was also charged and convicted with “publishing obscene material”).

Yet putting the video online led directly to identifying and capturing the guy. The authorities actually dismissed it at first as a fake:

Link to Wiki article (just describes the guy’s case and a mugshot, SFW)

Marek’s trial hasn’t happened yet, and is scheduled for January '16.

Perusing rotten .com back in the day I found a picture of a cat that had been cleanly severed in half on a railroad track. Funny how out of all the depraved photos on that site that was the one that upset me the most. All I can think is that the cat had to have been dead before being placed on the tracks.

It’s always the animal ones that I’ve accidentally clicked on (or some a-hole posts on FB so I end up looking automatically before I can stop myself) that bother me.

Someone started a thread asking “Is this real?” It had a photo of a guy who, apparently while drunk, accepted a bar bet to bite on a blasting cap!

He first told the hospital that he’d fallen off his motorcycle. When they pointed out the injuries were consisting with putting a gun in your mouth and shooting it, he confessed what he had done.

You do not want to see that image. Ever.

I’ve seen that image.

I still think the krokodil videos are worse. YMMV.

Ah, so that’s what happened. That’s the same one I mentioned in post #43.

Yeah, you don’t want to see that picture. It bothered me for weeks after I looked at it. It was worse because the guy was still alive, sitting up, missing most of the lower half of his face.

Oh, reminds me of another one I’d rather not ever see again: the shot of the guy with his leg blown off following the Boston Marathon bombing.

Several days after the fact, I went to Facebook one morning and saw that picture posted by two different people! IDK if the picture they thought they were posting had the bare bones cropped out, but that’s not something you want to be surprised by, and there’s also the victims’ personal dignity to keep in mind. If such a picture existed of you, would YOU want strangers all over the world looking at it, whether they wanted to or not?

:dubious:

I recently stumbled onto a You Tube channel called “h3h3”. It’s a husband and wife who make reaction videos to other things on You Tube; he does 95% of the talking, etc. and she films. They have about 150,000 followers; some of the things I’ve seen are funny, and most of it is just really dumb.

They have made a few “original” videos. You do not want to see them. Here’s an example. I thought he was kidding when he said he was do this. He wasn’t.

He said, “I’m gonna take a dump and find out what it tastes like!” He then proceeds to do exactly that, all over his bathroom floor, and then the dutiful wife cleans it up. I think the cleanup was part of the whole “let’s see how disgusting we can be!” shtick.

Coincidentally I was browsing a site earlier which listed some gross-out links. Most of them were pretty tame but one of them definitely put me off my supper.

It’s a German website which sells used tampons. (No pics, thank God, just business-like text in German, which I’m grateful I can’t understand!)

I thought Japanese vending machines that sold used women’s underwear was disgusting enough. :smack:
