Strangest or grossest thing you've seen online

You do NOT want to live in Mexico. Regular city newspapers often show unedited photos of dead and severely maimed bodies, typically in a section at the end where readers can find them easily.

First thing I thought of when I read the thread title. Looked like he hit a curb, the way half of his face was just gone, in an oddly symmetrical fashion. I read the later message in this thread where it turned out the guy had bit a blasting cap. Did not look like that kind of wound to me, but then what do I know?

Damn, bit a blasting cap on a bar bet. Way to ruin a fun night out, and every night thereafter. An instant of stupidity. . .a lifetime of regret.

Who the hell brings blasting caps to the bar?

The thing that haunts me to this day was a beheading video from years back; a grainy, b/w affair with a “unnamed russian soldier” title, supposedly taken in Afghanistan. It changed my view on humanity. I have since made an effort to avoid stuff like that.

I could watch most of the Rotten pictures in a detached kind of way.

I knew Goatse from when it was fashionable, but somehow missed 2 girls-1cup…Which I googled recently and turned off after 10 seconds.

When I first got AOL, sometime in mid to late 90s I watched a video of a beheading. Thought I’d see something like in the movies, head on the chopping block, one quick move with a big sword or axe.The reality is someone plunging a knife into the side of someone else’s throat and sawing away. And it’s obvious the victim is alive through the first few seconds and well aware. I’m very careful to NOT stumble onto things like that since.

Maybe we’re talking about the same one ?

I did. Then I went through a list of photos on a page that gauges your reaction to them. Them I googled “Ticks in a dog’s ear” to investigate one of the pics.

Never, EVER doing that again…

If you mean Nick Burg and the beheading I saw then no. Although I can’t put an exact date on it I can say it’s not the same event. Nick Burg was beheaded in 2004 and the one I saw was in 1998.

I think I know the one, if it shows the killer’s foot on the victim’s head: the Chechens would behead captured Russians on video in the 90’s. They’d send the tapes to Moscow, and the Russians would add dramatic music and play them on TV.

The worst beheading video I’ve seen was of Nepalese scut workers, not at all well-paid for the risk nor important to the mission yet glad for what were, by Nepalese standards, good jobs rebuilding Iraq. There was the sound of sleeping bags being frantically zipped and unzipped that dawned upon me were the victims sucking air through their severed windpipes.

It’s like of world of Otis Tooles over there.

Guess who just did that?

Anyone who wants to work in veterinary medicine, on any level, should look at that page first.

Go to youtube and search “mangoworms”.

Oh dear. I just did. Yuch!

As a kid I used to browse our father’s book “Homicide Investigation.” It showed nice colored pictures of different kinds of homicides. It was the old printing method wherein the entire page was glazed. The pages had a strong smell that really made you think of dead people. I grew to adulthood dreading I’d remember a photo in the book while eating.

Then I tried to wake up that (secret) aspect of me by browsing rotten.com. Some of those pictures were even grosser but they didn’t affect me as much as that book. You can still buy one from ebay or amazon.

Saw that. Totally convinced me that while dead people don’t bother me, violent murder in close up is actually not something I want to voluntarily expose myself to, thanks so much.

The embodiment of nightmares that I’ve had since childhood. I was gobsmacked (and revolted, and nauseated, and horrified…) to learn my nightmares were real.

Yes, that one… :frowning:

Why would the Russians do that?

I never had much of a problem with trypophobia until I saw that damn lotus boob picture. Thank you, Photoshop trolls, for damaging my mind.

I’m beginning to think I’m weird. I know so many people who have this reaction, and the darn thing doesn’t bother me in the slightest. I went to a “here’s an increasingly oogy set of pictures to determine if you have trypophobia” page, and I made it all the way to the end without a flinch. (Well, one flinch, but that was because it was an injured animal, not because of phobia).

Tasty!

The only way that video could be any worse? If the bottle were full of live bees.

Ontopic: I’ve seen beheadings, stabbings, and all sorts of horrible things. Worst thing, or the thing that had the greatest effect on me, would probably be a collection of crime scene photos of rape-murders.

Holy mother of god.:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Cerebral Myiasis Associated With Angiosarcoma of the Scalp

I won’t let you click without telling you: it’s video of a 75 year old man whose cancer ate through his scalp and into his brain, leaving it wide open and invaded by lots of maggots. This man was driving a car just hours before this video was taken.

holy fucking mother of god.
