Wow, there were TV ads? I’ve never seen a non-print ad for Fluff, but that doesn’t seem to hurt their sales any.

Oh yes, there used to be LOTS of Fluff ads on kiddie TV!

I think Good & Plenty candy is still sold (I wish it weren’t I LOATHE licorice), but I haven’t seen a commercial for it in decades.

Obviously, cigarette and hard liquor ads have been banned from TV ads for ages… but were ads for smokeless tobacco banned, too? I saw Skoal and Copenhagen ads during sports programs for ages after cigarette advertising was banned, but haven’t seen any in years.

And what about wine coolers? In the 80s, there were countless TV ads for those (Bruce Willis used to do Seagram’s ads). CAN they be advertised on TV?

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen hard liquor ads on on TV recently. Maybe they’re only allowed after a certain time at night.

Back in the 90s there was an entire series of memorable (memorable in a WTF way) ads for Mentos (the freshmaker!). I haven’t seen one of those ads in at least a decade.

And I do see hard liquor ads on TV, but if you watch closely they never show anyone actually drinking any.

Ovaltine and Nestles Quik powder used to be advertised constantly when I was a kid. I know they’re still around, because I see them on supermarket shelves, but I haven’t seen any ads for either product in a long time.

Gum, all the time. Usually some with sort of XTREEME type garbage going on with the gum chewers

Toothpaste, all the time. Usually some sort of whitening going on, also sometimes EXTREEEME

McDonalds, all the time. Lately pushing their fish nuggets (gee just in time for lent, whodathunk)

Cereal, all the time. BTW cereal commercials aimed at adults really suck compared to the ones aimed at kids (even for the same cereal)

Mouthwash & Coffee, not as much as used to, but not gone by any means.

Long distance, yeah gone. Replaced by cellphone plan ads.

It’s certainly implied, but never actually shown. They don’t even show the ice sucking.
