Hot on the heels of the stupid Iranian terrorist who bombed himself in Bangkok 4-1/2 months ago, now we have three Brits who tried to yank ATMs out of the wall over Pattaya way.
Seems they were trying to emulate what they’d seen in one of the Fast and the Furious movies. They did manage to yank out three machines using their vehicles and some rope but were unable to break into them. Fled empy-handed amid alarms and neighbors appearing until they finally got caught. Two Brits caught, one at large.
Seem to have entered Thailand as tourists more than 10 years ago and stayed ever since. One is 25, so he’s been here since he was 14 or 15. Other reports say his father left for England some time ago, and the pickup they used was registered to him.
