Stupid liberal idea of the day

Man, are you the precious little hypocrite. Six weeks ago, you posted this:
All I want with the CDC is that he be a little more proactive this time. He is, or should be, aware that the CDC has recently been having some problems. If I’m in charge of CDC, I want to know that they have their shit together and that they are ready to handle a possible ebola outbreak. He could ask Burwell, head of HHS: “What preparations are we making for this? Do they have the resources they need? How well have the quarantine stations been utilized before now?” Burwell, utilizing the functional chain of command that should exist in the federal bureaucracy, would find out pretty quickly what he needed to know and bring it to the President. If the CDC doesn’t have the resources, the President asks Congress for emergency resources(as he’s done on the border crisis).
Now, when the President has apparently consulted with the CDC and qualified experts and come up with a budget to work on a crisis that has already killed 2000 people in Africa and, by your own admission, could easily spread to the U.S., you feel that it’s appropriate for Congress to halve the requested amount. Even though $40 million dollars is, from the standpoint of the US’s budget, a virtually imperceptible amount. This is practically the definition of penny wise and pound foolish.

Teh stoopid is neatly distilled into the lead sentence:

I’m not too familiar with New York politics, but what did you expect him to say “Oh, woe is me, I only got 60% of the vote in the primary, I might as well concede the election now and retire in shame?” Coakley, who admittedly is not a well-loved candidate, only managed 42% in Massachusetts. To me, 60% doesn’t sound like too sound a thrashing.

As a liberal, it pains me to contribute to this thread (and resurrect it, it seems). But I just can’t let this go. In the current Pit thread about Smapti, he actually says this:

I’m hoping he was just joking. Usually, Smapti, is only that sincere when on his knees in front of a policeman’s penis.

Based on the context of the thread, I’m disinclined to think he was joking.

Smapti is a stupid Democratic idea. I’m disinclined to call him a liberal given his neofascist tendencies, though (“law enforcement are always right and anyone who is shot by the police had it coming”).

Related to Smapti’s statement, RFK Jr has frequently said that climate change deniers should be jailed.

…Is this the same RFK Jr. who is aggressively and virulently antivaccine?

Yep.

I can easily agree with both of these as stupid liberals. There’s no defending hailing political opponents, being anti-vaccine, or jailing climate change science opponents.

However, I do need to get my cheap political jabs where I can take them: it seems to me republicans are more unable to call out poor behavior or ideas from members of their party. I wish they would call out some of the more virulent hatred so prevalent in their fringe.

We try, if it’s important enough. A lot of the people you want us to call out are rather unimportant state reps. We’re too busy responding to whatever Bachmann or Palin are saying on any given day.

Well, you can pretty much ignore Palin now since she holds no offices at all. Soon, Bachmann too.

Yeah, but now we’ve got Ted Cruz, who is really too smart to not know better. I like him, but he could be so much better.

He represents Texas. He’s not allowed to know better.

I’m perfectly willing to grant RFK Jr. as an example of a stupid liberal. IIRC at one time he was denouncing the peril of the NAFTA Highway, aka Interstate 69.

What office does he hold, again?

The SRIOTD thread has not been limited to officeholders, though it’s fair to say RFK Jr. is only famous because of who his pappy was and his views are about as significant as those of some crazy dude down at the VFW.

Obama passed the buck. Again:

And this time it’s not even plausible. He must really think his supporters are idiots.

You’re a special flower.

Wrong again.

The actual quote–which was buried in the partisan nonsense you linked to, since you couldn’t even be bothered to link back to the actual interview

How the fuck is that “passing the buck,” and even if Obama is abdicating any responsibility, why shouldn’t we believe the factual statement that intelligence underestimated the dangers of Syria?

Seriously, adaher, just stop already.
