I actually don’t have any real issues over his handling of the ebola problem yet, although the CDC did drop the ball at first. But in the short term, anything can go wrong, it’s the long-term problems that got ignored by the President for months or years that i blame him for, not one-time fuckups by the bureaucracy.
But the appointment of Klain, the more we know, the less good it looks. So you called that one right.
Jayjay, the basic facts about Klain in there are correct, even if you feel they have been portrayed in a poor light. He’s a career political hack and he lobbied for Fannie Mae to try to relax regulations on lending. It does not seem that he is qualified to do the job the President is asking him to do.
YOu seem to be fond of attacking sources rather than debunking their arguments, which are easy to do when they are wrong. Fight ignorance, don’t perpetuate it. Even hacks get it right sometimes.
If you’re trying to raise flags about Klain, the LEAST you could do is offer up more than the standard right-wing drama-queening. There’s nothing in that link that anyone who’s not right-leaning - and thus, can think logically without letting their emotions get in the way - would find scandalous or even incompetent.
This is why it’s so hard to take you guys seriously.
Fannie Mae isn’t just a bank. It’s a government sponsored entity and Republicans were never for looser lending regulations for a company implicitly backed by the taxpayers whose mission was to expand home ownership.
Part of the problem was that the banks making bad loans could pass these loans off to Fannie Mae.
You need someone who has skills in coordinating many different entities and focusing them towards one goal. I actually can’t think of someone with more experience at that than political operatives. Maybe party planners. Why do you say he lacks qualifications?
An ex cabinet official, governor, or even mayor would be better for that than a career political operative. Campaigns are much smaller operations and he never actually ran a campaign. He’s spent most of his time as chief of staff or a lower level staffer. His highest position was as Biden’s chief of staff. Exactly how big is the VP’s staff and what do they really have to do?
You seem to assume that my purpose in engaging with you (and Clothy, for that matter) is to persuade you to my point of view. It’s not. My purpose in engaging with you two (and several others here) is to ridicule your complete lack of factual knowledge about pretty much anything, and your complete lack of political sense in any way, shape or form. I’m primarily making fun of you. Why you’d think otherwise I have no idea.
You’re going by official titles rather than actual function. A title often doesn’t reflect the function a person serves. For all we know, Klain may well have functioned as a campaign manager or other high responsibility position and, for whatever reason, just never held the title.
And they’d be completely justified. I mean, if I cite an article from Whale.to, do you do a point-by-point refutation, or do you just namedrop Scopie’s Law and call me a moron? Anyone stupid enough to cite Whale.to wouldn’t actually learn anything from the rebuttal anyways. That’s kind of where WND is. It’s bottom-of-the-barrel insane right-wing trolls. If you cite that website, we’re not going to rebut it, we’re going to laugh at you for being such a moron.
I attack the source because the source is demonstrably, objectively shit for anyone who doesn’t have their head firmly ensconced in Reince Priebus’s rectum.
