Stupid liberal idea of the day

He’ll respect you in the morning.

I wonder if the research to anser D’Anc’s question was funded by the NIH.

The government is spending millions to find out if kids like candy. This is an outrage!

elucidator said he could access it just fine, just a few posts ago.

Maybe I misunderstood? We’re talking about the link to the article about non-citizen voting, yes?

Boy, you are dumber than a bag of hammers. Do you understand the concept of Javascript? I can get the page to load, but only if I am using a browser with Javascript disabled. For the customs of this message board, that counts as a paywall. An easily-circumventable paywall, but a paywall nonetheless.

Don’t know, but it definitely has changed. Many problems in health have changed – cancer rates, obesity, diabetes… why would it be so hard to believe allergies have changed as well?

Yes there is. Just because there is no paywall for you doesn’t mean that’s the case for everyone.

When it’s raining outside, do you assume everyone on earth is getting wet?

Joking aside, they do: Expired RFA-AI-09-039: Consortium of Food Allergy Research (CoFAR) and CoFAR Statistical and Clinical Coordinating Center (CoFAR SACCC) (U19 and U01)

News stories have a paywall. That particular part of the Trib (the mission statement) doesn’t. (Sorry, missed an entire page of responses. Anyhow, I do get stuck behind the paywall often. Good to know there’s a way to circumvent it. I had no idea.)

That one shows up as a paywall article for me, too, with the same pop-up as the screenshot as posted before.

Anyhow, I’ll help you out. Here’s a non-paywall link to the article I found via Kass’s Facebook page. At least it’s not behind a paywall for me.

ETA: Actually, this is weird. Now after a couple times, the original article is not showing up under the paywall, and both the URLs are the same. I’m confused. Anyhow, I clicked on the October 24 post here and it didn’t send me to a paywall.

Humans don’t, but the food supply has, especially since companies started meddling with germplasm.

I get the same popups the others do. Chrome, Windows 7, no Java plugin. <shrug> You really think you’re the only person here who can use the Internet properly? Have you cleared your cache lately? Maybe what you’re seeing is a local copy of that article, not the actual site.

Maybe try this link and see if it works. I tried on another computer, and every single time, it sent me to the paywall, and then when I clicked on the Facebook link, it got me through.

It’s just a flesh wound!

Speaking as a guy who often DOES say just that to most of the new posters I see, I wish to be allowed to say:

D’Anconia, welco – nah, I’m gonna pass on this one.

Disabling JavaScript doesn’t cost anything, so describing it as being behind a “paywall” is bullshit.

There’s no such thing as “germplasm”.* I thought we were fighting ignorance, not perpetuating it.
*The little red squiggly line under your “word” should give you a heads up.

That’s not how it works. That’s not how any of this works. Evolution occurs over millennia, not the last thirty or forty years.

What are you, an idiot? The red squiggly line doesn’t mean it’s not a real word; it just means that it’s not a word in the dictionary of the software application that decides where to hand out the red squiggly lines.

ETA: just in case you ARE an idiot:

Thanks for pointing out the obvious, Gramps.

Germplasm still isn’t a word.

Merriam-Webster: Definition of GERMPLASM
1
: germ cells and their precursors serving as the bearers of heredity and being fundamentally independent of other cells
2
: the hereditary material of the germ cells : genes
