The talk shows keep George Will around to make Charles Krauthammer seem thoughtful and reasonable.
Quoting either of them as being such is not an effective persuasion tactic, though.

I thought the fashion industry was subsidizing him and Tucker Carlson as shills for bow ties.
My theory is that Krauthammer is an ongoing practical demo for the marriage of modern embalming techniques and audioanimatronics.
The Japanese already have dancing robots, so if he’s a demo he’s woefully obsolete.
Well, it’s American “news” media, so cutting edge ain’t happening.
But Bill Nye is still cool, right?
He’s the exception that proves the rule.
Here you go, Righties. One of ours got infected with the Rape Dumbassery Disease, too.
Dem Lawmaker: Rape Is Sometimes ‘Just Drunken College Sex’
<sigh>
Let’s see if D’Arconia demands a less partisan cite. ![]()
This is the stupider liberal in the article though:
Okay, that’s fine, but was what he said endorsed by you or your group? It sounds like you’re endorsing his view.
So, Addy, let me be entirely clear. Are we tarring all of her predecessors, who did **exactly **the same thing, with the same brush, or is it only stupid, pathological secrecy if a Clinton does it?
Exactly the same thing? Set up their own email servers, have a personal aide go through her email to decide what would be submitted to the government for recordkeeping and what wouldn’t? Forced the resignation of an ambassador for in part using personal email?
As if. haha
Yeah, that was a stupid thing to say. We need to hold our own to the same standards we set for the other side. If a Republican had said the exact same thing, she’d most likely have excoriated them.
I’d have understood if she had “defended” him by saying something like, “I’m disappointed to hear what’s been reported that Representative Martinez said. Rape is rape, and for the 30 years he has been working with us, I have always known him to espouse that position. He has been one of our biggest champions. Why he would have deviated from that isn’t clear, but I will look forward to having a fuller dialog with Rep. Martinez to discuss this topic further and perhaps get clarification from him.”
Adaher, you’ve clearly been following this story more closely than I. Have the prior two or three SOS’s use of email been scrutinized to the same level of detail as Hillary’s, such that we can declare her offenses so much worse? Why was there no outcry when Rice apparently used personal email?
Did Rice use her own server, giving her complete control over what correspondence to save? That’s the key. If she just used her own ISP, then the ISP has the emails. Clinton used an email server so that she would have control.
Are any of them considering a run for the presidency? It’s not that uncommon to look into the past of those that might one day run the country.
True, but I don’t think that’s an excuse per se. To me, there’s two issues here with any government official’s use of private email:
Is the private email being used to send information that should be kept secure? If government officials are being careless with classified info, that’s a huge deal. Tell ya what, if I was the President, this controversy would make me VERY interested in answering this question and I’d order an investigation.
Is the private email being used for strictly convenience, as Clinton claims, or to control what the public can gain access to through FOIA requests? Believe it or not, this private email controversy is not limited to Clinton. Over here in right wing conspiracy land, there’s an ongoing battle with the EPA over FOIA requests. They recently lost a court case because they are trying to ignore FOIA requests:
Related to this, the EPA’s head, Lisa Jackson, was using private email for official business.
I miss when this ‘scandal’ was about National Security, and not this Where Was Hillary, To Stand For Proper Email Hosting shit. It’s more convoluted than Benghazi.
It’s about national security, but more importantly it’s about transparency. Like I said, the Clintons never cross the line. Any scandal about them by definition is going to be relatively minor. The issue is that there are so many of them, and I don’t think there’s anyone here who thinks this will be the last. And no, they aren’t all made up. Nearly every Clinton scandal in history was broken by the MSM, not the right-wing. Including the latest two. There will be more, and the Clintons will continue to react with obsessive secrecy. She said pretty directly that we don’t get to see those emails. Plus she lied, claiming they were between her and her husband in some cases, when he doesn’t use email. She also lied about the convenience of the devices, insisting she wanted everything on one. Yet she has bragged before about how many devices she possesses. Which gets to the other issue: the coverup is always worse than the crime, and the Clintons obsessively cover up. And that’s where they get stupid, because minor scandals go away quickly: unless you try to cover them up.
I wish it would sink her battleship completely and we could get Sanders or Warren to run.
