Stupid liberal idea of the day

More likely the dipshits you put into office won’t allow any changes to be made to current law.

The GOP tactic of stonewalling, and then blaming the lack of progress on Obama should only work on imbeciles and the uninformed. You appear to think you’re informed…

I have an awful memory-tell me again what happened with the gun control legislation that was drafted in the wake of Sandy Hook (and championed by POTUS)?

Clothy, come back with your numerous cites debunking the total bullshit! I can only find this one:

I think that right-wing mouthbreathers are intentionally getting stupider as time goes by, in an effort to prove that evolution is false.

Cite for the debunking? From what I can find, he’s absolutely correct – the frequency of such mass shootings/killings in other advanced countries is much, much lower.

Here’s another one showing more countries. Chile is the only country that is even remotely in the same league as the U.S. (Click chart to enlarge.)

There was no stonewalling. He asked for legislation, the legislation was voted down, with a lot of Democratic help.

Besides, the gun control legislation wasn’t anything that would have helped anyway. He gave a very serious speech. He should follow that up with serious proposals to reduce gun violence, and Clinton should get on board.

As should Sanders, O’Malley, Bush, Walker, Kasich, Jindal, Christie, Perry, Huckabee, Pataki, Rubio, Cruz, Graham, Paul, Santorum, Fiorina, Carson, and Trump, right?

I said “Right?”

OK. I believe you.

(no, not really)

You don’t really think that. You want him to do that so he’ll take heat for staking out a position without any hope of it passing.

You’re a fucking stooge.

Still waiting for Clothy to engage in honest debate, with cites, after suggesting that anyone who suggests the US has a problem with gun violence is a ‘stupid liberal’.

Not holding my breath, though.

There are lots of countries with far higher per-capita murder rates than the United States. According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the US is 111th in rank, not even in the highest three brackets. The US stands out simply because so many of the murders it does have are by gun- hardly surprising given that guns are the first choice of murder weapon when available.

If the US had no guns at all, would the murder rate go down? Almost certainly. Would every murder committed with a gun have not happened? Almost certainly not.

Lies, damned lies, and statistics. There have been two cites made that seem to make an opposite case. Care to include a citation for the data you are claiming, so it can be evaluated? I suppose it’s optional, since this the Pit.

The report is here Global study on homicide .

You have absolutely no idea how cheap life is in sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America. There could be ten Charlestons a day and it wouldn’t put the U.S. rate anywhere near what Venezuela or South Africa have.

Just because you, like Obama, believe at your core that the United States is the worst in the world at everything doesn’t make it true.

What brings the United States down is that there are too many sniveling creeps like you in it.

Obama was comparing the US to other ‘advanced countries’ in frequencies of shootings, and it seems that he was correct.

Completely irrelevant to the discussion Obama was limiting the discussion to advanced nations. Not war torn pseudo nations.

“Aha! No true Scotsman! Other nations with high murder rates aren’t “advanced!” Circular argument!”

(Oh, shut up.)

I’m merely providing the citation asked for about overall murder rates. You can get back to self-fellating over the stupid gun argument without me.

Unless your statistics are limited to advanced countries only, they’re irrelevant to what the president said.
