Stupid liberal idea of the day

Really? You’re going with “The Feds should have to protect the states from their own stupidity”? You really wanna go with that?

And the federal government are all composed of liberals? When did this happen? Or did the socialist Obama command that this should happen all by himself?

Do you think that opposition to “sealing the borders” is a stupid liberal idea? Perhaps you should do a poll of businesses that hire immigrants, and see what they tell you. Are they “stupid liberals” too?

Do you think that any nuanced position on immigration aside from “seal the borders” is a stupid liberal idea?

Finally, are you retarded? Like fully designated?

Clothahump, you’re a moron. You suck.

Can we please find someone else who can do a competent job linking actual liberal stupidity, and not just mundane policy disagreements?

That’s not in the Constitution. What are you, some kind of subversive?

Immigration reform is not solely a liberal stupidity, unless Downsize DC is suddenly not a right-libertarian organization. http://www.downsizedcfoundation.org/blog/the-real-immigration-problem

You make this statement as if the Federal Government’s just run out of duct tape and weatherproofing strips rather than ensure absolute control at all times over 1,969 miles of land borders and another 2,000+ miles of ocean border around the Gulf of Mexico.

You’re more than welcome! The only idea I postulated is that you’re a simpering, snivvelling, drool out your cleft palate, bang your helmetless head against the wall, complete and total idiot.

So if you’d like to highlight that, draw attention to it, and let others debate that, be my guest. Me? I think it “speaks for itself”

You don’t have much assistance? Pull yourself up by your bootstraps, man. Your side is sposed to be all rugged individualists, like, not whining like that…

I tried. Really I did. But I got Betamaxed by Clotho the Clown here.

But I did called this one pretty accurately:

My name is Clothahump, and as a Conservative, I demand MORE GOVERNMENT ACTION!

Just stop pretending you have principles and admit the only time you have a problem with government action is when you it isn’t screwing the right (left) people.

It is virtually impossible to seal the border. A man who is willing to risk his life to sell drugs will find a way. A man who is willing to to risk his life to feed his family will find a way. Build the bestest wall evah! and they will go over it, around it, under it, or through it.

It won’t work.

No question, the Tree of the Fruit of Liberal Stupidity is so generous, so abundant that your approach—citing a “stupid liberal idea of the day” that’s obscure or inconsequential, once every ten days or so—has been misunderstood.

Mark my words: Humpy knows from showmanship, and you never lead with your A-list material. He knows the art of the slow burn—drag us along with what appear to be non-stories, lull us into complacency, and then BANG! He brings out the really big guns!

We’re going to be laughing out of the other side of our mealy mouths, just you wait.

Well, gee, I dunno, Vinny. I’m in my later youth, and the doctor says I cannot reasonably expect more than twenty, thirty years.

Its the post-modernist irony! The stupid liberal idea of the day is discussing issues with Clothahump, which is like playing music to a block of cheese!

Liberal post of the day.

I want to join the bashing party!

California allows college aid to illegal immigrants

Screw all you legal American citizens!

Well, there is actually a reasonable argument to be made that some citizens and legal residents might be adversely affected by this bill. After all, allowing illegals to apply for aid increases the pool of applicants without increasing the pool of money. There is also, as some critics have suggested, a more general argument of principle, that people who are here illegally should not be provided with the same benefits enjoyed by citizens and legal residents.

But i just can’t get worked up about it.

Firstly, it is very clear that the Act applies to people who have been brought to the United States as children, and who have already spent considerable time within the California school system. These people generally came with their parents, and i don’t see a need to make their lives even harder by punishing them for decisions that they generally had little or no part in making.

Secondly, as this story notes:

And, in the Cal Grants program, the new legislation will apply to about one percent (1%) of the total pot. Given the state of California’s finances, and all the places where money is wasted, i can’t get too worked up about a program that will cost about $14 million to help some kids, who are already on a path to citizenship anyway, get a decent education.

Finally, if this is a “stupid liberal idea,” someone better tell Texas.

They also better have a talk with that well-known liberal, Rick Perry:

I was going to say – California’s jumping on Perry’s bandwagon?

The California AB 131 Dream Act is more proof that California is going down the drain. I live in North Hollywood, California and every sign and every billboard is in Spanish where I live. At my work people don’t even flush their used toilet paper down the drain, instead they just throw used toilet paper on the floor because they think they are in Mexico where they can’t afford first world plumbing.

I live in California and am a USA citizen born in USA, and I pay thousands of dollars a year in federal and state taxes, for what?

My parents were immigrants from Japan but they were legal. My grandfather served in the US army in WW2 against the Japanese and Germans even though he was a Japanese-American.

I don’t understand why gov. jerry brown would sign ab 131 the illegal alien dream act.

How can you justify giving US American public tax money to citizens of another country so they can pay for school in the USA?

I don’t agree that tax money should pay for illegal aliens high school either. And I don’t care about Texas or Perry.

If Illegals want a free education, then they should join the military and put their life on the line and prove that they would die for the USA. Just like my grandfather did back in WW2.

It’s a generally provable fact that immigrants (illegal or not), as a cohort, increase the economic well-being of the country if their children are allowed to stay.

This benefit improves even more if they are allowed to be educated, even to the high school diploma level.

So yeah, that bill got signed into law because statistically it will be a net economic gain. Thanks for asking!

Seriously? Have you walked the steets of los angeles lately? Nothing but crime, drugs, and filth thanks to the deluge of anti american illegals aliens.

Benefit who? American tax payer citizens or illegal aliens? How can it benefit American citizens when the pool of college public financial aid is increased to citizens of foreign countries?

Doesn’t it make more sense to provide higher education to legal citizens who’s parents have paid the taxes? If your parents didn’t pay taxes in this country then you shouldn’t get the benefits of this country.

If you are an illegal alien and want to go to college, then i’m sure your home country would gladly accept your application.
