Since Rush Limbaugh is a top-rated Republican intellectual, I guess the Republiotards look to Maher for debate. (Garrett could have just phrased a legitimate question poorly, but given that he’s a bookwriter and a Fauxite, Occam’s Razor tells me his was a deliberate attempt at a snotty Gotcha.)
But so what? We’re not talking about Garrett, Obama or Maher. We’re talking about Haberdash and asking why America’s right-wing today attracts such doltish amygdala-guided “thinkers.” Are you ashamed of the people who vote for your team, Adaher ?
The good news is that they’re running a BOGO special this week. Everyone who outs himself as a “dumb fuck” gets a free extra personal failing; available in multiple flavors, including “racist,” “anti-vaxxer,” “homeopathic medicine advocate,” and “MRA.” Check the catalog for the full list.
And why didn’t they take their grievances to a Republican gathering? Because the Republicans would call the cops. If they had gotten through security in the first place.
For the same reason liberals took their grievances to the 1968 Democratic convention. Democratic politicians are weak and will respond to whoever intimidates them best.
The candidates took the time to answer the questions. The protesters made their point, got a reply and left.
Compare this to the Republicans who put their stupid ideas on the stage, said by the candidates like insulting war heroes and telling Americans to work longer and harder.
I don’t think the activists were stupid. Rude, maybe. I’m not even sure what was so stupid about it when even the event’s organizers had no problem with what they said, just in how they said it.
But even if you still think they’re stupid, at least the Democrats aren’t running them for President.
The Republican stupid comes from the stage, not hurled towards it.
I’m sorry, don’t you vapidly flip the lever for the same dudes that are so afraid of the GOP base that they pretend to be as stupid and uninformed as they are?
I guess the Democrats need to start vetting their event attendees to make the events look more professionally staged, the way the Republicans do. This whole disorder business is just poor PR, we no longer have that Rogers guy to make good jokes about it.
