I don’t believe septimus was using “you” in the general sense, but rather in the specific. That is to say, he wasn’t saying that it doesn’t matter why anyone hates Obama. He’s saying it doesn’t matter why you, specifically, the person who goes by the name Haberdash on this board, hates Obama.

And the reason it doesn’t matter is that you’re a deeply defective human being. You combine stupid, crazy, and angry in your own special way that pretty much automatically invalidates anything you have to say, on any subject. You’ve been in some of the gay rights threads in GD lately, taking a pro-SSM stance. But it doesn’t matter, because you’re still a crazy, angry idiot, even when your erratic orbit occasionally lines up with an otherwise rational position.

So again we come to the typical Obama-brained response where, after huffing and puffing about how they definitely don’t write off any and all criticism of Obama as racist, they just can’t resist adding in “this person who made no reference to race and asked a question about an issue that has no relevance to black-white relations in America is, definitionally, a racist, because he asked Obama a question.” You just can’t help yourselves.

The reporter phrases his “question” in a singularly nasty and disrespectful way, and gets called on it. You defend the reporter because you assert that even if he had phrased the question respectfully he’d have gotten the same criticism. (If that’s your point, why didn’t you link to criticism of a respectful question?)

Is this a correct summary? Can you grasp the cognitive dissonance present in your claim, or do you need it spelled out?

… Or are you now going to focus on “respect/disrespect”, that by asking that Obama be treated with a fraction of the respect given other Presidents we put him on a pedestal as God-King?

So what? the President’s a big boy, he can handle it. He knew what he was conceding to when he got involved in these talks, and to his credit he doesn’t mind answering for what he gave up to get the deal he wanted.
