Stupid liberal idea of the day

Yeah, if it wasn’t for us, you’d all be speaking German. Or Japanese, whatever. You tell 'em.

Most likely Russian or Chinese.

We could do an election adequately in three months. Elections are the way they are to support the industry of campaigning.

And I can eat 50 eggs.

:stuck_out_tongue:

I found one. An actual stupid thing a Democrat said. Minnesota House candidate tweets that ISIS isn’t all bad. But, unlike other candidates from other parties, he dropped out of the race when he got the blowback.

But really. What a stupid thing to say when campaigning right after they killed hundreds of people.

His apology is entertaining though:

Since I had to Google it, I’ll save others a click: The libtards in that state run under the label Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party of Minnesota.

I didn’t Google to see what the state GOP chapter is called. The RIL Party?

Republicans. The DFL name is a historical artifact stemming from the 1944 merger of the (quite successful) Farmer-Labor Party with the Democratic Party.

“I will do everything I can to help resolve the issue: most likely the best thing for me to do is shut up. The tweet was stupid. I’m sorry.”

Mr. Trump? Mr. Carson? Are you listening?

I imagine he was going for “All Muslims are not terrorists” or something like that and had a bit of a communication stumble. Otherwise I have no idea what he was thinking.

You have to remember that the reason we don’t realize this is that you’ve done such an expert job of concealing your superior intelligence behind a facade of ignorance and illogic.

Who’s this ‘Miriam Webster’ person? Is she a friend of yours?

The dictionary is Merriam-Webster. Nitpicky of me, I know.

Not sure that he’s a liberal but he has a D in front of his name so I guess this is the place for him.

David Bowers, the Democratic Mayor of Roanoke Valley , sees Roosevelt’s internment of the Japanese during WW2 as an example to be emulated.

I love how ISIS, scrabbling for millions of dollars through extortion, black market oil and individual contributions has grown in the imaginations of people to something approaching an industrialized imperial Japan.

The interesting thing is that, if you want to use Japanese internment as a point of comparison, it would actually serve as a good example of why assholes like Bowers are completely over-reacting to the Syrian refugee issue.

After all, it was pretty clearly determined, during WWII, that the military’s claims regarding the security dangers posed by Japanese Americans were basically bullshit, and that General DeWitt had knowingly provided incorrect information in an attempt to justify relocation and internment.

So i think that Japanese internment does have some good lessons for us: that we should not give in to lies and misrepresentation and the fear-mongering of bigots.

It is largely forgotten how many people made quite a tidy profit buying up the property of interned persons. Nothing personal, just business. Look at it a certain way, nothing racist about it! Ruthless, sure, but not racist!

See what I mean? Another ad hominem response because you can’t refute what I say.

It gets boring after a while. I do wish that you clowns would show some originality and actually debate ideas and facts instead of namecalling like a 4 year old having a tantrum in the sandbox.

It seems that every time your ideas and assertions are refuted with facts you totally ignore it.

Unlike you, who just takes a shit in the sandbox and runs away.

I note the irony of Bowers’ comment: he said Japanese foreign nationals, rather than American citizens who were interned.

I bet anybody he’s never met a Japanese-American detainee. Having know dozens growing up in California, you don’t exactly forget this nuance.

Also, this thread should really be S-Democratic-TOTD. Liberal is too broad a paintbrush.
