Stupid liberal idea of the day

Yeah, just saw the wifi thing.

Got the ‘rich white liberals with more money than sense’ vote sewn up, I guess.

SHe’s definitely liberal, and definitely not that bright, but that’s par for the course for the Greens, Nader excepted. Didn’t they also nominate Cynthia McKinney, who was not only stupid but anti-semetic?

She’s no brain surgeon.

Jill Stein takes many political positions that I support, and others I just shake my head at. It seems obvious her heart is in the right place but her mind is a little bit too paranoid. Looked at the wikipedia page for her political stances, and the freak-out about Wifi and her support for homeopathy and fear of pesticides and GMOs are a bit off-base.

Basically she’d make an okay liberal Congresswoman or Senator but we need someone more intelligent in the Oval Office. Her weirder qualities wouldn’t pass through the house because they’re not that common a position.

What happened to the Natural Law Party? That used to be where the pseudoscience lefties used to congregate.

Natural Law Party had a party hierarchy made up of Transcendental Meditation adherents. While there is quite an overlap between their philosophy and the moonbats’ they’re not the same thing.

You may well roll your eyes, but given your recent demand for not just “stability and order” but cultural uniformity backed by extreme government action against those who don’t conform and are therefore deemed to be enemies of the state even though they’ve individually committed no crimes, you’re well on your way to advocating for the fascism you claim America “defeated”. And I don’t mean “fascism” in a “you’re fascist for not agreeing with me” way, I mean “fascist” in a “advocates many of the same positions as actual fascists” way.

And you’re completely oblivious to both this and the irony of this.

Jill Stein’s “fear of wifi” appears to be a muddle. She expressed a concern about the intellectual electronic coddling of children (TV, phones, computers, long, long hours spent staring at various monitors, screens and displays, which very well could be an undesirable path for mental and emotional development), then someone asked her about wifi and she went off track, making it sound like she thought wifi radiation might be a dangerous thing.

Which clearly depicts her as not at all suitable presidential material, if she cannot maintain control in a discussion like that. Not so much goofy per se, just not a sharp and commanding presence, such as a leader needs to be.

Obama’s secret payment to Iran is pretty poor.

Republicans say it’s danegeld for 4 released hostages, Democrats say it’s part of 1.7 billion it owed pre-revolution Iran and is settling legitimate debts in the interest of establishing better ties.

Keeping the secret while you ship the $400 million is a good idea, but if the true intent is legitimate it should have been made public after or citizens will have a right to be suspicious.

This was widely reported (and not kept secret) in January. The only thing that’s new is that part of the payment was cash.

We, and by that, I mean anyone who was actually paying attention to the details of the deal, knew we would be repaying them old debts and seized monies.

This is only a scandal to the ignorant right, who desperately want there to be scandals.

That money was Iran’s that was unfrozen. It isn’t coming out of the US kitty.

Well sure, but “We gave Iran their money back” does not have the same cachet to it on Fox News does it?

Ah, I see. Ignorance fought.

It also wasn’t hidden, and isn’t new. It was reported on in January. The only thing new is that some of the payment was cash.

My only question is “Why are we involved in a cash delivery?” If it was their money, why did we have to send a plane to carry their cash?

Presumably, they asked for it and we complied. At that point, they probably don’t quibble about the details of how they want the money that’s already been agreed to be delivered, especially when Iran is still holding hostages.

$400 million in US cash isn’t a huge sum to move to a nation of 77 million. Just over $5 per head.

Even if it was only to fill bank vaults against private currency exchanges, that would only last a few years.

Bolding mine.

That just makes it sound like more of a ransom payment.

Obama just commuted the sentences of more prisoners.

And he calls himself a Jobs President. :smack: Not only do for-profit prisons employ many tens of thousands of salaried employees (and provide billions of dollars in profits for America’s long-suffering stockholders) but prison inmates can be forced to work for, literally, peanuts, contributing to the economy (and the suffering stockholders). According to a recent book, prisons and their suppliers represent the third-largest industry worldwide, thanks to American leadership. Isn’t it just like monkey-face to try to beat down the industry in which we’re world leader?

Supposedly most of the released inmates were “serving excessive sentences for non-violent drug crimes.” Yeah, right.

And, although the liberal media didn’t mention it, what do you want to bet many of the released criminals were black? Looks like the plan was to release them just in time to vote for Hillary.
