Trump has been a failure even by the standards that he and his mouth-breathing supporters set during the campaign. Even if you support his idiotic and reactionary promises, he hasn’t managed to deliver on them. There is basically no standard—liberal or conservative, left or right—by which Trump’s presidency so far could be considered a success, unless your only aim is literally to anger liberals and progressives. Which is pretty much Clothahump’s entire raison d’etre, so it’s understandable that the endorphins are stimulating his meager brain.

I will also note that very few of us here think “the sun shines out of his ass” A great many of those on the left disappointed with a number of aspects of his presidency. We just see him as a competent, and probably above average holder of the office. It’s just in comparison to those on the other side of the aisle that he looks like the golden boy.

• the multiple ways he’s funnelling taxpayer money into his businesses;
• the way members of his administration are leaving faster than they are arriving (apart from the one who are members of his own family);
• that time he let Russians into the Oval Office with a bag full of electronic equipment;
• the failure to get any legislation passed despite the Republicans controlling both houses of Congress;
• his inability to give even basic speeches without rollbacks and apologies being immediately required;
• the way confidence in America and its leadership have plummeted in virtually every country except Russia;
• the combined aggressive threats of starting a nuclear war and demonstrated lack of awareness of what nuclear weapons we have, what they do and what the effects would be;
• the way he used a natural disaster to promote his own hats;
• his inability to condemn Nazis;
• the weird obsession over the number of votes he received and the number of people at his inauguration, both of which he is clearly delusional about;
• the way he promised to get Mexico to pay for the Wall and then threatened to shut down the government if America didn’t pay for it;
• the multiple members of his campaign under investigation by the FBI and possibly others;
• the plummeting approval ratings, even among Republicans; and
• the lying about virtually everything.

I mean, what did Obama accomplish? Sure, his administration saw the biggest job growth in manufacturing since the 1990s, unemployment cut in half, clean energy production doubled, the deficit cut by three-quarters, the stock market tripled, record-breaking auto industry sales, Osama bin Laden killed along with dozens of other Al Qaeda leaders, over 20 million people gaining health insurance, and all with a Republican Congress for most of his term refusing to do anything to help the country if it meant a benefit for Obama, but just think where the country would be now if Trump had become president in 2009!
