Clothahump, you and I have not had much interaction over the 16 odd years (!) we have both been members here. I have read your posts on occasion and rarely found anything that I agreed with; but so what, there are a bunch of people on this board I don’t agree with. While I am sure we could find common ground on a number of issues, I am also sure that you and I would disagree on most. But now I am really curious; I do not know any Republicans who believe the current President is competent. I do know people who still believe he was the best choice for our country and support him 100%, but they don’t believe he is a good president. A subset of the list posted by Gyrate above are the reasons why they are disappointed with him. You are the first person who If have interacted with who I believe is sincere in their admiration for the man.
I really would like to know what good things he has accomplished in the last 8 months, because I am not seeing it. When I look at his track record, I do not see him making deals for this country. I do not see him accomplishing much at all. So I sincerely want to understand your point of view. You and I both know that after you post the list, people here are going to dismiss it, deride it, contradict it and probably insult you. But I won’t. I probably won’t agree with you, and will in fact probably read what you wrote and think to myself that you are the one living in a fantasy world. But still, I am sincerely looking for some understanding of the divisions between us in the (probably vain) hope that sometime we will have a leader in this country elected by and representing a majority rather than a plurality of voters. Booming economy - when he was elected, Dow-Jones was at 18000 and change. Today it’s up over 22000. I sincerely doubt we would be seeing numbers like that if Hillary had won.
