That said, Trump jumping into the fray on the whole “War on Christmas” thing is just bizarre. I’ve worked for about a dozen businesses in NYC since I moved there in 1980. And we always sent Seasons Greetings/Joy to the World/ Peace On Earth /Happy Holidays greeting cards. And the reason was clear - every single company I’ve ever worked for in NYC had Jewish ownership. And 75% or so of our clients were Jewish. And over half of the professional level employees.
And Trump has spent his life working in the upper echelons of New York City real estate and finance, where pretty much everyone is Jewish. His scrawny rabbit-faced daughter with the big fake boobs is Jewish. Her children are Jewish. Even though she tweeted a Merry Christmas greeting. Because she’s a tool, too.
And Trump knows this. I know he is sadly lacking in any intellectual curiosity regarding any subject that doesn’t involve making money or hate or hurting people and comparative religion isn’t his strong suit, but even he HAS to know that Jewish people don’t celebrate Christmas.
And that the War On Christmas BS isn’t about political correctness, it’s anti-Semitic- especially when you wage that war against the backdrop of NY real estate and finance. I’m willing to bet the Trump Organization never sent out a Holiday card that said Merry Christmas. It just isn’t done.

I don’t think Trump’s War on XMas is directed against Jews. He’s just echoing the same thing conswerveative pundits have been yelling for years to make it look like he’s keeping a campaign promise.

I know that, that’s why the whole thing is bizarre in a way it wouldn’t be if he was a real estate tycoon in Louisiana or Kansas. I know he’s led an extremely secular life with nary a thought about religion until he found it advantageous to suck up to the evangelical right.
But I honestly think he doesn’t know that Jewish people - even the ones he knows - really don’t celebrate Christmas. They aren’t just pretending not to because they are godless liberals that want to offend Sean Hannity.
They really don’t and they never have. Not even in the ‘50’s when America was great before the liberals ruined it with civil rights.

This is one of those little Trumpian things that bugs the crap out of me. Because I’m sure she was subtlety bullied into tweeting that. Probably Bannon got to Trump and stuck a bug up his ass about Ivanka not saying Merry Christmas hard enough and set him off. Then the handlers had to contact Ivanka and tell her she needed to send a Christmas tweet. Even though she’s Jewish.
