Stupid liberal idea of the day

California says coffee needs cancer warnings, goes after Starbucks. Other companies have already capitulated. I’m all for consumer safety, because the free market does not provide for this, but CA tends to go overboard. Way overboard.

Well, seeing as how this lawsuit was brought under a 1986 law, I can’t see that it’s accurate to say that California is “going after” coffee. I totally agree that this lawsuit suggest some holes in the law (which has often been cited as over-broad in its language and which might well be amended by legislators) but characterizing this as something new, or an example of California being all nanny-statey, is incorrect.

It is an example of CA being a nanny-state, however I’ll concede it’s not new, though the article is current.

And this isn’t a knock against the nanny-state, just the extent to which CA goes (and how they make my own nanny-NYC jealous). The nanny-state (and insurance companies trying to save money) has given us seat belts and airbags. The rules and regulations promulgated by the FAA have made commercial air travel safer than it’s ever been, despite the age of the fleet. I could go on and on. Without the nanny state, we’d probably still have lead paint and toys, and asbestos insulation. A totally free market would not correct these. We’ve seen it often enough.

Ironic trivia time!

The top floor of the EPA’s old headquarters building on M Street SW had asbestos ceiling tiles and asbestos insulation above that. That whole ceiling was undergoing asbestos removal during the short time I worked for 'em.

Stupid liberals! I hardly know where to start.

(1) Many Americans turn liberal after being poisoned by education.

Think about! Exposure to the Satanists in Universities have turned postgrads stupid and liberal. The less they are exposed to formal education, the more Americans retain their natural intelligence and the more likely they are to vote right.

I didn’t Google for it, but I think the same effect applies to home-schooling. The home-schooled score worse on standardized tests, which means they’ve not fallen for the liberal dogmas promulgated by the Satanists. The home-schooled are more likely to vote for patriots and to reject ideas pushed by dark-skinned “Americans.”

(2) Top American intellectual condemns Democrats for trafficking child sex slaves.

It’s hard to find Roseanne’s best tweets — the libtard media suppresses them, but here is a summary of a tweeter she endorses. Q has also demonstrated that top Democratic leaders are involved in satanic cult that traffics child sex slaves.

That’s right: Clinton, Obama, etc. are all child-sex traffickers and instigated the Las Vegas massacre as a distraction when the FBI was closing in. I know some of you libtards will be skeptical … but Roseanne is now being invited to explain the conspiracies on America’s Fair and Balanced News Network — the network that’s a fresh breath of sanity while CNN etc. pander to crackpots.

Liberals need to wake-up and reject the Satanists who are trying to ruin America.

Hope this helps.

I am reminded of the story about Jerry Lee Lewis and his cousin, Jimmy Swaggart. Jimmy was heading into a career as an evangelist, and urged Jerry Lee to join him. Problem was, according to Jerry, the Devil has all the good music.

I usually cut a lot of slack for people who try to learn about topics they know nothing about… but this story just pisses me off.

It is behind a paywall, so let me explain. A DC council member posted some really ignorant bullshit on his Facebook page about the Rothschilds controlling the weather, apparently with no clue that his comments were really offensive on the basis of “who controls the earth and the skies? The Jews!” nonsense.

So the councilmember, to his credit, tries to make things right, in kind of a fumbling way. Meets with some Jewish community leaders, seems to be having some kind of dialog, and then makes a quiet visit to the Holocaust Museum… but just so happens there is a reporter there to watch the tour he’s being given. Then these things happen:

  1. Upon seeing a picture of a girl surrounded by Nazis with a sign that she had been “defiled” by Jews, he insists that the Nazis seem to be protecting her.
  2. Upon seeing a picture of Catholics being executed by Nazis, he wonders who made the guns.
  3. He then just sorta… leaves… halfway through the tour.
  4. He’s found waiting outside the museum, by himself, and insists that he had a pressing engagement and tries to duck the reporter.

So, yeah. If it were just the mildly offensive questions, I might cut some slack. But ditching a tour of a museum to wait outside while your staff continues to learn about the Holocaust?

That is fucked up.

That guy is a complete moron.

And the aides are no better than their boos:

Jesus!

Again, evidence that **Clothahump **fucked up in naming this thread. That isn’t a stupid liberal idea by a long sight. What we have a hold of here is a stupid Democrat. Not the same thing.

Bush-hating Fresno State professor passes out fake number, floods crisis hotline with calls

Professor does something stupid. And in the backlash, doubles down on the stupid.

If only she had been more elegant and used Sam’s classic, “I am afraid I cannot attend the funeral, but I have sent ahead a note saying that I approve of it.”

I’ve been seeing a big comeback in anti-semitic conspiracy theories lately.

She shouldn’t lose her job though. And probably won’t since she has tenure. The world knows she’s a moron now, that should be enough.

I work with three or four Clothahumps. They’re actually more or less decent sorts, until they absorb the latest bullshit from the Fox/Limbaugh/WND universe, and then their brains start running out their ears.

Today’s latest PC liberal outrage? California’s legislature has just voted to ban the Bible. Did you not know? Utterly shocking news. Except actually what the legislature voted on was a bill to tighten already-existing restrictions on so-called “gay conversion therapy”. And it doesn’t ban, or even mention, any sort of book, Bible or otherwise. And if one thought about it for, oh, ten seconds or so a) even the most hard-core radical state legislature would be unlikely to vote in a law banning the favorite holy book of a large proportion of their constituents; b) such a law would, I think, run up against, oh, one or two constitutional issues.

But hey, they believe the Bible has been banned in Cali and that’s that (when another coworker showed them the Snopes link above, it was instantly rejected because “Snopes is run and paid for by a bunch of liberals”.) So this one’s for them, and their blood brother the OP.

I’m lucky that I don’t run into such blind ignorance at my work or the area I live.

Would you mind sharing what job/industry you work in? Because this is pretty stunning.

Er, let’s just say a couple from aviation and the others from petrochemicals. All are in their 70s or older.

Pretty broad base, with one thing in common.

Sad to know that it will take a lot to get people to trust facts. All but one person on my Wife’s side of the family are trump supporters (except my Wife of course). The other is a 30 year old nephew that hates trump perhaps as much as I. His close brother is a trump supporter. I really don’t get it.

My husband worked with a man with an astonishing hump- it wasn’t there when he (my husband) started but over the course of several years the coworker became a literal hunchback. And my husband asked why the ever loving fuck he hasn’t had it looked at. Well, Coworker said, he didn’t have insurance. Not even Obamacare? FUCK no, that was socialism and he wouldn’t pay that money toward that. But gotdamn if he wouldn’t bitch about the penalty he had to pay for not having insurance. Obamacare was the devil’s work, and who the fuck was the gubmint to tell him to have insurance.

My husband lit him UP. Explained the benefits of a healthy citizenry, told him the only reason he and I personally are still alive are because of that evil socialism, and asked him which was worse- refusing to have insurance, paying a penalty, and NOT getting health Care he pretty obviously needed, OR paying a subsided rate for insurance, getting the care he needed and and improving his quality of life.

They stopped talking about politics shortly thereafter. That fuck is still a goddamn hunchback.

For the Bush tweets, I agree. If posting that number prevented people from getting through to the hotline, I’ll entertain the idea.
