I dunno. It would help a triage nurse get the people who deserve to be treated seen faster.
I’m not sure what you are replying to. As an actual triage nurse I’m interested.
Yeah, I’m curious about that too. It scans as if he’s saying hiring bigots would help to make sure people who deserve treatment first got it.
dropzone? You want to clarify that?
Looks to me like a particularly apposite example of Poe’s Law in action.
Me, too. The idea that one race deserves priority medical care than another is so ridiculous that it comes off as snark against racists. Sorta like “Sure, we’ll hire racists. After all, only white people deserve to have their computers fixed!”
Or one sexual orientation/gender group.
That said, below the level of policy-setting personnel, I’m more comfortable letting an anti-bigotry policy be used to weed them out after hiring than with trying to screen them out in the hiring process. Too much potential for subjective judgements to unfairly screen out a false positive.
Your comment reminds me of a person who makes blanket assumptions and is intolerant of people holding different opinions–Bigot.
And I don’t take you or your comments seriously, because you’ve given me no reasons to. You had your chance but now you’re just wallowing in stupidity, and what stupid people are reminded of or reminded by is of no interest to me–Putz.
(Wow, it’s been over two months since we had a stupid liberal idea of the day.)
Anyway, I’m bumping this thread to announce a change in my Party affiliation. I used to describe myself as “Centrist leaning toward Democratic Party.” Now I prefer “Centrist leaning toward Sanity.”
The final straw came in an IMHO thread where the OP of the poster (presumably “Liberal”) called for taxpayer-funded sex robots. I didn’t notice the usual swarm of liberals ranting their support, but that’s only because “incels” are not yet regarded as a disadvantaged class. (In another thread I think the liberals were ready to pass laws compelling restaurants to stock plastic straws.)
I don’t blame that Doper for wanting taxpayers to buy him a sex robot. Buy me a Ferrari while you’re at it! And I’m sure that, “if ♫ civilization’s still alive ♫” in some 22nd- or 23rd-century dystopia, sex robots will be the norm. I’m not claiming that taxpayer-funded sex robots are already a plank in the Democratic Party platform, but I’m going to cite it forevermore as a reductio ad absurdem of the “progressive” agenda.
Some Americans visualize Americans as the people that tamed the Wild West, that rescued the people of France in 1944, and that placed a Man on the Moon. This view of the American spirit is incompatible with the whinings we often hear from the left; and they push conservative voters into the arms of people like Donald Trump.
I hope I’m wrong. I’d love to see Nancy Pelosi sworn in as Speaker of the House next January, and Patrick Leahy as President pro tempore of the Senate.
But if that does not happen, consider this post to be “I told you so, and told you why.”
A question, if I may, and a follow-up:
What are you smoking?
Are you sure you trust your source?
I usually associate the Incel movement with the MRA / red pill bullshit, which aligns with the Alt-Right and white guys are the real victims of discrimination, it’s awful that people are bigoted against bigots crap.
Even though you didn’t post any links, I’m assuming that the poster that made you change your political affiliation is Blalron.
https://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=21080611&postcount=1
In looking through some of his recent posts I see that he seems to be in favor of outlawing “discrimination” based on political affiliation
https://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=21049167&postcount=29
and requiring every citizen to carry a national ID card.
https://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=21048413&postcount=
And his posts in this thread are anything but progressive,

So I really don’t see where you’re coming from. I agree that the “free sex robots for incels” is perhaps the dumbest idea for a taxpayer funded program that I’ve ever heard but just because it involves the government giving people stuff, that doesn’t mean it’s liberal. I see it as more of a “the government gives minorities free food but they won’t give the suffering white dudes free sex robots -discrimination! idea”.
Which is really a stupid conservative idea.
I sit corrected.
Now I wonder if Blalron is being disingenuous, with his calls for taxpayer-funded sex robots, trying to make the same stupid reductio ad absurdem I did. If not, I need to compose a rant for a Stupid Right-wingers thread. But is it remotely credible that even the most despicable right-winger would feel entitled to a free sex robot while gloating about poor Americans without healthcare?
In the olden days I’d now be certain Blalron’s was all a parody, an audition for TheOnion.Com. But now … I wonder.
It’s not a secret that Jay Sekulow’s son Jordan also works at the American Center for Law and Justice.
Occasionally, liberals do say stupid things. Like the claim that the woman sitting behind Kavanaugh was flashing white power signs. It looks to me like she’s picking her cuticles.
Not sure what she’s doing but her thumb ain’t moving.
The Boston Globe shut me down because my browser was in incognito mode or something, but I saw it here
https://nypost.com/2018/09/04/conspiracy-about-woman-at-kavanaugh-hearing-rages-online/
and it looks to me just like that fuckin frog “ok” sign bullshit. Looks like it, that’s all. But I can see why “some are saying…”
PS: Lets hear it for stupid liberal ideas and the sheer volume of reports of them. Not sure my number of posts to show per page, but the post at the top of this page for me came in April!
Looks to me that she was playing that game where if the person looks at her fingers, she gets to punch them in the arm.
The rise of the DSA is probably going to give us some better material to work with in this thread. We can start with Ro Khanna and Bernie Sanders proposing a BEZOS act, which taxes big companies if their employees receive welfare benefits.
Ok, care to elaborate why that’s stupid? I’d prefer we mandate a living wage, but stopping companies from paying their workers so little that they need social welfare programs to get by seems like a good idea to me.
I kinda agree with the notion that the name of the bill at the very least is stupid af.
