At a campaign event in New Hampshire, the woman warned Biden that she was about to ask a potentially mean question before saying, “How do you explain the performance in Iowa, and why should voters believe that you can win the national election?”

Biden said the question was legitimate but then asked whether she had “ever been to a caucus” before.

She signaled that she had, to which Biden said: “No, you haven’t. You’re a lying dog-faced pony soldier.” The audience laughed in response.

Now maybe the tone of both the question and answer was such that it more a naturally humorous situation, but Jeez, Joe, your campaign is already is some trouble, you don’t need to be handing out gratuitous insults to voters and giving your opponents any additional ammunition to question your judgement.

Not if you want to beat the real lying dog-faced non-pony soldier…

In spite of his myriad flaws, I think Biden is a generally likable guy. But shit like this… man. Still, if he gets the nomination, I’m voting for him. To my knowledge he isn’t in cahoots with any foreign powers, and he probably wouldn’t set up concentration camps, so he’s better than Trump. Get it together, Joe.

Biden has used the line before and Reuters reported that he’s said it’s a reference to the 1953 John Wayne movie “Hondo.” A search of the script revealed a few references to pony soldiers and lying, but not together nor with the dog-faced portion.

Some on social media suggested Biden may have been referencing “Pony Soldier,” a 1952 film that starred Tyrone Power and not John Wayne. However, according to Slate, the line as Biden used it never appeared in that film either.

With the caveat that it hasn’t been proven to be politically motivated yet, I wanted to make note of this. A guy in Florida drove his truck into a tent where Trump supporters were holding a voter registration drive. The driver then filmed himself flipping off the volunteers. Luckily no o e was hurt.

Again, no motive has been established, and maybe this guy is just a garden variety sociopath. But, since its at least a strong possibility, and since participation on this thread is anemic, here ya go. Whatever the motive, fuck this guy. I hope he is punished to the full extent of the law.

What a strange thing to say, even if it is a “joke”. I’ve been to a presidential caucus and I’ve never lived in Iowa nor Nevada. Is there some “mark of the beast” that I’m sporting that is only visible to presidential candidates?

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) – A state lawmaker from Chicago has proposed going back to a time when gas stations had attendants on hand to pump your fuel.

State Rep. Camille Lilly filed the Gas Station Attendant Act last week. The measure says no gas may be pumped at a gas station in Illinois unless it is pumped by an attendant.

Lilly’s chief of staff, Alexis Reed, said the measure came out of discussions with the lawmaker’s constituents and their concerns about the high unemployment rate on the West Side.

I’m all for employment but inventing unnecessary jobs seems like a pretty bad way to go about it.
