Stupid liberal idea of the day

I wasn’t aware that Lincoln Project was a Democrat running for office. What seat is Mr. Project running for?

Oh, you mean, those are ads attacking Trump in general, not using Carlson and other fascists to praise a specific Democratic candidate? Amazing, it’s almost like it’s a totally different situation!

You keep trying to pretend that Carlson was praising El Sayed, which isn’t true. Argue your point with honesty, if possible.

A false statement.

It’s very simple. El Sayed decided that he wanted to use Tucker Carlson’s statement about Mike Rogers in an El Sayed ad. If your brain is too smooth to grasp why that’s different than the Lincoln Project using Carlson in generic attack ads against Republicans that aren’t in favor of a specific candidate… Well, I guess my estimation of your intelligence can’t exactly drop any lower. I already find it miraculous that you remember to breath in and out.

The difference is that Babale doesn’t like El-Sayed.

Really, that’s the only difference. And if you disagree with Babale, you are stupid.

When you get caught in a lie, insult people!

And what lie do you think I was caught in? Did El Sayed not use Tucker’s statement in his own ad?

El Sayed used Carlson quotes to talk smack about Rogers. The Lincoln Project used Carlson quotes to talk smack about Trump. I can assess the strength of your argument by how deeply you must lean into insults.

You said that Tucker was praising El-Sayed. That is a lie. It just is. He didn’t.

For context, back in 2016 I didn’t like either Clinton or Trump, and didn’t vote for either. (In retrospect I should definitely have voted for Clinton, but hindsight is 20/20.) I voted 3rd party. At the time I said I would never support Trump. If someone concluded that I was then a Clinton supporter, they’d be wrong because I wasn’t. (Again, I wish I had been back then, but I was convinced she wasn’t trustworthy.) I voted Libertarian, which might as well have just been leaving my vote blank at that point.

You claimed repeatedly that Carlson was praising El-Sayed by saying he’d never vote for Rogers, which is false. It was pointed out, but you just keep repeating it. It would be one thing if you were wrong and moved on, but no. I don’t know why you keep saying it’s true when it objectively isn’t.

What’s weird is, other conservatives did praise El-Sayed, and they were featured in the ad. Such as Lara Trump and Jesse Waters. Carlson instead just said he wouldn’t vote for Rogers.

Also missing is that this ad was specifically targeting conservatives, and only aired on Fox News and Newsmax. It was an attempt to get some folks on the right to potentially vote for him. I’m not sure how effective it was, but that was the whole point of the ad. His own campaign site talks about it.

It’s an interesting discussion, but it’s a discussion you can’t have without the actual truth, or facts.

You are such a turd sometimes most of the time? I said I didn’t see that commercial. As a matter of fact I’ve still not seen it. Do you have an issue understanding written English? Because I did not say that the commercial does not exist. It was commentary about the ubiquitis amounts of political adds. My not seeing it does not mean it exists or doesn’t exist. FFS get over yourself.

You wouldn’t have unless you watch right wing news.

…if you truly believed that Israel were waging a genocidal campaign against Palestinians in Gaza then “hurt people hurt people” would be entirely uncontroversial. It isn’t a defence of hurt people hurting people. It’s just something that hurt people often do.

On these boards it was pretty commonly accepted, including by myself at the time, that Israel had a right to defend itself and a right to respond to Hamas atrocities on October 7.

But Israel crossed that line the moment they ordered the evacuation of northern Gaza. Hurt people hurt. You get it now, right?

So I stand by what I said. If you want to condemn the genocide being committed by Israel in Gaza, the ethnic cleansing taking place right now in the West Bank and Southern Lebanon, the deliberate targeting of civilians like nuclear scientists and politicians in Iran, if you want to make your position absolutely crystal clear, then now’s your chance.

In an ad about El Sayed.

In an ad about Donald Trump.

I genuinely cannot tell if you’re actually so stupid that you don’t see the difference, or if you are being deliberately obtuse to defend El Sayed.

Why am I not surprised that you misquote the commercial and obstinately misunderstand the context? It’s a good commercial. I despise all of those fox bobble heads, but some republicans that may be reached don’t.. Duh

Well, I genuinely can tell why you refuse to admit the obvious parallels between the ads and the difference in your reaction to both.

 yeah, right. I’m not misunderstanding anything.

Why would Tucker Carlson say that he wouldn’t vote for Mike Rogers with a gun to his head? Because of Israel. Why is El Sayed playing that clip? Because he wants people to understand that this is his position on Israel.

If Mike Rogers supporter Medicare covering gender reassignment surgery, and Abdul El Sayed did not, and as a result of this policy difference Tucker Carlson said that he wouldn’t vote for Mike Rogers if a gun was held to his head, and then El Sayed played ads of that comment, we wouldn’t be debating whether or not this was a way to signal an anti-Trans position. We’d be rightly condemning it as transphobic.

But we all know this. None of this bullshit hand wringhing is genuine. What it comes down to is that YOU MOTHERFUCKERS AGREE WITH TUCKER CARLSON ABOUT ISRAEL. You don’t see a problem with signaling ageement with him. That’s it. It’s not mysterious at all.

I just read that above while seeing the commercial for the first time and I decidedly do not watch fox or newsmax. Yuk

I mean, in the two most recent Gaza/Israel threads, totalling over 3,000 messages, there isn’t a single post by you.

Not one by me either, tbf.

Also, just four messages in the original discussion:

None in the breaking news thread:

I mean, I think the numbers speak for themselves. You do have a lot of posts in an antisemitism discussion, but that is only tangentially related to the Gaza/Israel debate and not about Gaza/Israel.

Ah, it is a pattern I’ve noticed. If you don’t agree with everything that comes from Babale on high, you are stupid, idiotic, brain dead, smooth brained, etc. etc. etc. I’d noticed this in the past and now I see I’m not the only one.

Quoted for truth.

Fair enough, I oweFair enough, I owe @TroutMan an apology. He clearly isn’t stupid, he’s just in the same exact camp is Tucker Carlson.
