Stupid little song stuck in my head...grrr

Why oh why of all the songs by all the people in this world does it have to be Jessica Simpson’s song that’s stuck in my head.

It’s there all time time, when I wake up, when I go to sleep, when I’m walking around muttering to myself because I’m losing my mind…

Screw that stupid song, screw MTV, screw Kiss FM, screw the bus driver that made me listen to Kiss FM and screw Jessica Simpson (hmmm…there’s a thought).

[Jon Stewart] DAMN YOU JESSICA SIMPSON [/Jon Stewart]

Two songs are guaranteed to get ANY other song out of your head…

The first one is: "Il etait un petit navire, il etait un petit navire, qui n’avait ja ja jamais navigue, qui n’avait ja ja jamais navigue. Ohe ohe! Naviguez!

The other one is: "Lundi matin, le roi, sa femme et son p’tit prince … son venus chez moi, pour me serrer la pince. Mais comme je n’etais pas la, le petit prince a dit, “Puisque c’est comme ca nous reviendrons mardi… MARDI MATIN etc”

Those two songs have worked for me in ANY case of the “stuck in your head” phenomenon. Sorry I can’t help more.

Every Thursday the children in my class get to watch the episode of Between the Lions that goes along with their spelling words for the week. It takes me until the following Wednesday morning to get the theme song out of my head. Then, I have one blessed day of normalcy until…

“Hey now. Hey wow. Here’s how…come and read…Between the lions…”

I hum it. I sing it. It’s Public Television, and it’s insidious!

FB

“…and Honey I miss you
And I’m being good…”

Jessica Simpson should be prosecuted for her crimes (of singing these songs that she sings)…after a day of listening to Zeppelin I’m still humming ‘With nothing but a T-Shirt on…’ and so on…

Oh me is woe…

Thank God I don’t know who Jessica Simpson is or this thread might have infected my brain. I’m very susceptible to getting noxious ditties stuck in my cranium for days at a time.

For instance, I just heard the muzak version of “The Captain of her heart” in the local supermarket. On the way home I had to fight the urge to steer into a telephone pole.

*Too long ago, too long apart
she couldn’t wait another day for
the captain of her heart.

Oh, she’s a DANCING QUEEN! YOUNG AND SWEET ONLY SEVENTEEN!

AAAAAAHAHGGHHHRRCKCKK>>>…[sub]…[/sub]

I have found that “All Mixed Up” by 311 will ruthlessly stomp any other song out of my brain. It’s worked for four years and still doing beautifully.

Just a helpful tip. Unless you hate 311, in which case I’m afraid you’re on your own.

Try humming that song by Jet. The one they use in the I-Pod commercials. Wish I knew what it was called. I LOVE that song. I may have to purchase it to do my aerobics by.

shudder

When I have a song stuck, it seems to help me to hear the song again, then go on listening to something else. Weird.

Here, I can help…
*"H.R. Pufnstuff,
Who’s your friend when things get rough?
H.R. Pufnstuff
Can’t do a little cause he can’t do enough. "

You’re welcome.

It dates from my navy days, it’s to the tune of ‘You are my Sunshine’ (better known to most people my age or younger as ‘The Oscar Meyer song.’)

My Reactor has a first name: It’s N A V A L.
My Reactor has a second name, that’s classified as well.
Oh, I love to scram it everyday,
And if you ask me why, I’ll say:
“'Cause radiation has a way
of rearranging D N A!”

Of late, my braintrack has been vascillating between two different songs: André 3000’s “Spread” and that popmetal song by The Darkness that’s in every other song rotation on the music video channels. Nothing gets me closer to feeling like I’m losing my mind than standing in the line at the post office with one of those songs throbbing in my head.

It’s not a bad song, but considering the tone of the original, I’d hate to hear the MUZAK version of the song!:eek:
