Stupid Republican idea of the day

Well we can hardly bring about the reign of eternal darkness under the dark dominion of the Pain-Squids without $10 and your soul can we?

Kids these days, expect everything to be handed to them on a plate.

One of my religions guarantees your salvation or triple your money back; beat that deal!

You, my friend, are clearly not a bank.

Do they not take those cards at the grocery store, and the gas station, and the Reel-&-Retch, etc, ad infinitum? Young people these days most avoid cash anyway, so the remainder in the account will get spent.

Varies state to state. Here in the People’s Republic of Minnesota, you encounter few if any real obstacles, one card for all. Your money is yours just as if you put it there yourself. Other places, they don’t think being poor is adequate penance for not having money.

Joni Ernst thinks that the poor should be sent to Hell.

Uh, while I would think it is something she could say, there is no evidence about it elsewhere, we need a better cite than satire or Facebook.

I’mma call bullshit on this one. Unless someone can turn up a primary source (and their search-fu at the Des Moines Register site is better than mine.)

Yeah, The Des Moines Register ran a recent story about that Facebook page,it is satire:

Somebody asked that page if she actually said it and they said yes, she did, so I’ve asked them for a link to the Des Moines Register article.

Take it from me : banks are one of those places. They’ll charge you money for not having enough money. Which seems like a paradox until you meet the guys with the baseball bats and the big van.

Rick Santorum quotes ‘God Hates Fags’ slogan on national TV to defend ‘religious freedom’ laws

Georgia elementary school teacher tells her students that Obama isn’t a Christian and if their parents voted for him, they aren’t Christian either.

“Liberals want you to believe Jesus loved the poor.”

WTF, Iowa?

Aside from being highly offensive, it doesn’t even make sense. Who is the victim of government overreach here? If a gay man discriminates against Westboro Baptist, couldn’t they use the RFRA as a basis of a lawsuit?

nm…

Actually, that bit of scripture is kind of evil. Matt 25:30 is preceded by a parable about a guy who entrusts 4 of his servants, in order, with 10, 5, 2 and 1 talents; the first three invest their funds and get a 100% return, while the servant with 1 talent squirrels it away, which pisses of the master (there is some odd phrasing about how the master reaps where he does not sow, which sounds a little sleazy to me). So then the text reads,
28 `Take therefore from him the talent, and give to him having the ten talents,
29 for to every one having shall be given, and he shall have overabundance, and from him who is not having, even that which he hath shall be taken from him;
30 and the unprofitable servant cast ye forth to the outer darkness; there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth.
So, in fact, it is right there in the bible itself: money should be taken from the poor and given to the rich.

Read in the right perspective, the Sermon on the Mount was really a motivational lecture, out at the Holiday Inn on Rte. 9, the kind that the Sales Manager sends his staff to.

And remember when He said “Put away the coffee, and touch it not, for the coffee is for closers.”

Do you have the tendency to feel faint in the presence of colossal stupid? Better sit down…

**Kentucky Argues Gay Marriage Ban Not Biased **

Why? Because heterosexuals cannot get gay married either! I swear, I am not making this up!

I’m impressed. Why didn’t Virginia try this in Loving vs. Virginia? There’s no discrimination: we’re denying both blacks and whites the right to marry each other. Everyone treated exactly the same across the board.

It takes a really special kind of stupid to be a conservative Republican today.
