Fine, I’ll say it since no one else has-
Yes, they’re a bunch of lunatics.

Yes, they’re a bunch of lunatics.
Assuming you’re in the US, then yes, there is *always *an election coming up. Starting the morning after the last one, and often even sooner.
Right wing group Judicial Watch takes credit for preventing an ISIS attack on US soil. The government says, “No, not so much.”
The level of stupid increases as always.
That being said there is a sheer fuckload of Republicans reporducing the Mad-Lib meme of
" <Insert Obama policy or plan that GOP doesn’t like> is just like <insert really bad thing in history>."
A weird, double dose of stupid: Michelle Bachmann says the Rapture is coming and blames Obama
Correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t Christians WANT the Rapture to happen? They want Jesus to come back? By her own definition, Bachmann should be praising Obama for ushering in the end times! She doesn’t even fucking understand her own god damn religion!
Or is she speaking for us heathens, telling us we should blame Obama for causing the Rapture, because Christians like her don’t really want Jesus to come back? What a fucking shithead
Only a very prominent minority. There’s a very wide variety of Christians, including many who actually try to follow Christ’s actual Biblical teachings about loving and helping one another etc. Don’t tar them all as nutbars.
The fundies who believe in the Rapture want it for themselves, not considering that if it were to happen, it might not include the sanctimonious, hypocritical, or judgmental. ISTM Bachmann is warning those of us, the bulk of humanity that is, that we’re going to be Left Behind without the chastening, civilizing, morality-giving True Christians to provide us guidance. And that will be the Kenyan Muslim Socialist’s fault.
Fox Host: To stop terror recruitment, we need a more “robust, manly” version of Christianity.
Hokaay . . .
As Saul of Tarsus was on the road to Fire Island, he beheld a blinding light, and a voice shouted, “Saul! Saul! Thou shalt open thy mouth and close thy eyes!” . . .
With live rounds?! ![]()
that was kind of sucky
Another Republican woman, who apparently has bought into the idea that women will lie about being a victim of rape or incest to get an abortion because, after all, it’s not verifiable.
Is there a downside?
Yes, because DNA tests are often failed because the questions are so hard, and rape kits are just things you use to, um … build … rape?
Looks like a win win…
Much as I hate to defend someone I really really want to punch in the face just by seeing her picture ; she’s kind of got a point there : if you (Republicans you) restrict abortions in all cases except rape & incest, you’re going to see a lot of women who are going to jump through the newly minted rape hoop (that’s my band’s name, don’t steal plz) in order to get access to an abortion.
So her objection is not stupid.
Her being on board with a bill that would make that an issue to begin with, on the other hand…
ETA : oh wait, it appears the hoop in question is a 48h waiting period rather than a flat NO. Then yeah, OK, she’s cray-cray through and through. Yes Sheila, women are totally gonna subject themselves to the social stigma of rape just to get their troublesome foetus yanked out a couple days earlier. That is totally a thing that would happen, yes.
America has some of the richest deposits of stupidity in the world. Communities rely on this stupidity. Without it, entire industries would collapse. The Republicans have been selfishly exploiting these reserves for their own political gain. Stupidity is a renewable resource, but it’s not infinite. At current rates of consumption we’ll hit peak stupidity by 2037. Our first priority should be a cap and trade system, but until then we’ll need to rely on substitution. For example, instead of seeing Islamic conspiracies under your bed or misunderstanding elementary school science you can fall down the stairs, hit your thumb with a hammer, or say your political opponents have cooties. Don’t forget to reuse and recycle. Old stupidity can be just as effective as new, especially with a bit of refurbishing.
I think we’re still reusing 1950’s stupidity already!
Well, yeah. There’s still a lot of fossil stupidity reserves we can tap.
A school nurse in Carlisle PA refused to treat a student who wouldn’t stand for the pledge of allegiance. The reports don’t say she’s a Republican, but she has the mindset.
