Stupid Republican idea of the day

Oh, hell!

I’m pretty sure that’s how I taught the cleaners at my last job to do it.
They’ve probably been deported by now.

(In my own defense, I have never been in the military, the Boy Scouts, or a presidential candidate.)

Damn!

Jeb Bush Speech Denouncing Lobbyists Was Organized By Corporate Lobbying Group

File this under John Ellis being oblivious.

How would one fold a flag like that in the first place? You bring the long edges together and one end is all blue on one side. The next natural long fold should leave you with an all blue end: fold it the other way and you get all stripes except for one row of stars on blue, which is what it looks like they must have done. To get blue on one side and stripes on the other, you would have to do some weird move, like, after the first fold, pulling the bottom fold up between the edges.

I just cannot understand it. Also, his shoulder should not be touching the “W”.

Marco Rubio compares Obama to Trump, saying that both of them have no class.

You bottle-swigging moron. Obama has more class in his little fingertip than the entire current Republican presidential candidate field.

Vitamins make you horny, and other things I learned on Laura Ingraham’s insane new website.

Among his complaints? That Obama went on The Daily Show to talk about, among other things, the Iran deal. Yes, a politician went on a talk show hosted by one of the most politically acute hosts on TV and conducted an engaging and informative interview. Worst President Evar!

I’m just going to have to guess that, what with coming from Florida, serving in today’s Senate, and hanging out with other GOP candidates, our boy Marco doesn’t come into contact with “class” often enough to recognize it.

Will the nutter pubbies in Florida stay there once the sea covers most of Florida, or will they move north? I’m hoping they stay where they are.

Weather Channel sez South Floridians move north. All the way to their grandchildren’s houses in New Jersey.

And this of course highlights one of the stupidest Republican ideas of all; that climate change is a myth - some sort of liberal plot to achieve… something or other, I don’t know. I guess it’s like the underpants gnomes.

Apparently the idea is that there’s a vast conspiracy of scientists promoting this stuff just to get each other a bunch of grant money from Da Eebil Gummint, which of course is run by Democrats who simply hate Big Business for creating jobs that make people not depend on welfare and not want to vote Democratic.

I think.

It’s a convergence of various CTs.

National Review calls Bernie Sanders a Nazi.

I’m going to guess you didn’t click through to any of the links. I briefly checked the vitamin, the “churchies eat more vegetables” and the cervical cancer articles. The cites in the first two are horrible (providing barely enough to constrain a search to maybe find the supporting study.) There’s a very light sprinkling of religion on top. Mostly they are pretty typical media reporting on health research. A minor rewrite and cites and they’d fit on HuffPo. The third, the cure for cervical cancer, is a report device that some smart guys actually invented. It’s gotten through clinical trials in Brazil with testing yet to come in the US. There’s no god or political references. It’s a pretty common here’s a cool invention early report. I could see that being on HuffPo as is.

I stopped there. Given the chance to cherry pick the most crazy, the author whiffed on my first three checks. Three strikes and he’s out. I did find one example of biased, irrational, and rampantly partisan reporting. It’s a prime candidate for SLIOTD. The link is in the quote above.

Apparently the motive is to scare people into implementing socialism and confiscate money from those horribly beleaguered corporations and give it all to undeserving unproductive poor people.

And that, folks, is what is called “damning with faint praise.”

I liked this part of the NR piece:

Really? Who’s the emir of Norway, I wonder?

Isn’t Kevin Williamson the person who stated that woman who have abortions should be hanged*?

*As opposed to lynched because…well that would be racist

That’s an easy one : Harald V.

The point is not *wholly *without merit, BTW. It’s true that a lot of Norway’s social expenses and projects are financed exclusively with the profits of its extensive oil fields in the North Sea.
But then, it’s almost as if they’d decided to, wait for it, socialize them ! As opposed to, e.g. Harald’s clan hoarding the money, buying solid gold jetplanes filled with hookers, etc.

Yusuf Yusufssen?

Marco Rubio Scolds Obama for Having No Class:

Of course, it was very classy when Marco Rubio went on the Daily Show (three times!) to talk about immigration, the economy and foreign policy.
