Isn’t there supposed to be a comma in there?
No, I think the missing bit is italics as a written signifier of intonation : Why *Jeb *?
Black hands matter.
Too late.
Sorry to pollute the thread with more satire, but really, this is amusing: Trump is not an actual candidate, he is an under-cover operative for the Clinton organization, working to take the heat off Hillary by distracting everyone with his bombast.
Bad news. They aren’t kidding.
I see it as unintentional satire.
This appears to be the original, and it looks like they erased the supporter standing next to him but didn’t correct the shadow she was casting.
Honestly, that sounds even dumber than just Photoshopping in a random body. I know PACs aren’t supposed to coordinate with a candidate, but I doubt that runs all the way to not allowing someone to come and snap a few portraits. Jeb’s Super PAC has a hundred millionty dollars; surely they afford a photographer. They don’t need to go groveling through Facebook for some low resolution image with a busy background and random voters casting shadows.
I look at it as an example of the fine attention to detail his administration would exhibit, the way that plans would be executed if Jeb was POTUS, and an indicator of what he and his supporters think of the average American voter.
So it was a terrible photo-shop, that figures, but even before that was noted this was the first thing I thought when I saw the “Why Jeb?”
We already saw that when he released all his emails from his term as governor, without bothering to delete the names, addresses, phone numbers, social security numbers, medical histories, etc. of his constituents.
Jeb’s superPAC denies superimposing head onto black body, releases original photo.
I think the limiting factor here isn’t, “Campaign doesn’t have enough money to hire a photographer,” so much as, “Candidate doesn’t have enough time to pose for every flyer put out during a campaign.” There’s going to be thousands of these things being made by both sides in the campaign, and virtually every one of them is going to be drawing from stock photos of the candidate, or culled from coverage of the campaign. It’s faster, cheaper, and doesn’t cut into the candidates vital “fellating corporate lobbyists” time.
More likely, since this was put out by his superPAC, it is illegal to coordinate with a candidate, making it difficult to get suitable campaign photos.
The Rachel Maddow show had some hilarious clips a couple weeks ago. One of the Republican candidates, I think it was Ted Cruz, wanted to supply his PAC with footage they could use for ads, but because of the non-coordination rule, they couldn’t just pick out the best stuff and send it to the PAC. So what they did was dump a whole bunch of raw footage to the net, where anyone could see it, but obviously the intention was for the PAC to pick out the best stuff for ads.
But Maddow found clips of take after take of a supposedly spontaneous testimonial from his sister, talking about what a great kid he was growing up, etc. She’d say, “Oh, he used to do X,” and Cruz, sitting next to her, would sort of laugh, like “Yeah, I remember that,” and then you’d hear the director say, “Try looking at him when you say that,” so she’d say it again, looking at Cruz, and Cruz would give the little laugh again, and then the director would suggest something else, and they’d do it all over again, just making a mockery of the alleged spontaneity.
I remember the Daily Show having similar fun with Ron Paul using exactly the same tactic. I think it was back when Jon was on holidays and John Oliver was running the show ; but I can’t be arsed to look it up ATM.
Then why does he appear to be shielding himself from the harmful rays of the sun like any vampire would? Seriously, I think he looks like the lead in some old vampire flick but I can’t place it. Can anybody here help me or should I raise the issue in CS?
Trying to get the teenage girl vote.
