Stupid Republican idea of the day

Seriously, that’s always struck me as weird. Glenn Beck, for example, will rant for hours about how we’re on the wrong track, America has lost everything that ever made it great, we’ve “passed the last offramp, and it’s time to stop the car and go back,” America has been destroyed, etc.

And in almost the next breath, will condemn liberals as the “Hate America First” crowd. What th’??

The conservative movement, as it is currently constituted, is totally “anti-” and doesn’t have anything productive to offer. How, exactly would Trump “make America great” again? What are his concrete proposals?

(We know about deporting 12 million illegal aliens, and building a fence that Mexico would pay for, but this is just sloganeering, akin to “Let’s make Jerusalem an International City.” Okay, even if it were a good idea…how? How exactly?)

Trump has no idea. He’s just going to turn it all over to “managers” who know what they’re doing. At least, that’s what he said about immigration.

President of the wrong color, duh.

But let’s not mock that approach; it’s one of the few that work well in business and in government.

Judging by Trump’s business problems and bankruptcies, I don’t see any particular reason to view him as capable of selecting competent managers. It’s also worth considering his personality, which is completely opposed to people telling him, “No, you can’t do that,” which a competent manager has to have the ability and freedom to do.

Valid points, I do agree. Like all good theories, I can fail in the implementation.

But he has a really transparent process for selecting managers.

It takes 13 weeks, a dozen candidates and a series of increasingly improbable test scenarios, with the winners and losers dependent on test audience reactions and overall ratings. Plus, it’ll all be funded by corporate advertising and product placement fees- taxpayer win!

This woman has a great response for the GOP’s misogynists:

(No, no graphics, just a funny song.)

So, he’d surround himself with competence, in much the same way that a hole surrounds itself with doughnut?

We got that once already, with Shrubya. No thanks.

FWIW, here are the positions held by the guy he just hired as his national campaign co-chair. Apologies for the formatting, it’s much more readable at the link:

If I read these correctly, and am not getting fooled by a double negative…then there are these, at least, where I can agree with him!

I bet a pickle there’s a double negative here, and he’s 100% wrong on the whole damn list.

Predictable. Virginia shooting was a false flag operation to take our guns.

Whenever someone mentions Trump, I think “Trumpy”. I want to somehow make it where Trumpy shows up in any feed acknowledging Trump. Hey, most for his followers believe in Trumpy Magic!

Yeah, those were the two that jumped out at me, too. I’m also in favor of the US not being ruled by the UN, but I’d guess that that actually translates to sending in the Marines to expel the UN stormtroopers from Texas Walmarts, or something.

That’s no doughnut, It’s a space Pasticciotti!

Oops! I missed that one; yeah, I’m good with national sovereignty, but keeping our treaty obligations to the U.N. We really can have both, and, as you suggest, Trump probably doesn’t believe that.

Would he even appoint a U.N. ambassador? Or just try to kick them out and occupy that nice east side real estate?

It produced the Tea Party, didn’t it?

And Kardashians.

I find your arguments… lacking.

Note that the headline of the article isn’t substantiated by the article, but it could be a conclusion drawn based on who is advising him.
