Stupid Republican idea of the day

Oh, look! The conservative faction appropriates yet another physically violent Jewish ordeal to make themselves the victims!

From the Moonie Times

No, Moonie Times…this is not a pogrom. (Warning: Disturbing images behind links!) This is a pogrom. And this is a pogrom. And this is also a pogrom.

A little criticism isn’t a pogrom. You are not the victims in the Tucson tragedy. And you are not the Jewish people. Quit stealing their history to make yourselves look noble.

I thought this sentence from the Moonie Times article was fantastic:

I’ve never noticed a ‘unified liberal voice’ before, but then again I didn’t realize it was a commentariat doing the speaking. Sounds vaguely… communist!

Is anyone keeping track of this commentariat’s apparatchiks?

Who is the left-wing Grover Norquist? Apparently I need to subscribe to his or her newsletter.

Anyone got the over/under for Glen Beck doing a Kristallnacht reference?

Oh, this is a good one. Republicans have selected Paul Ryan and Michelle Bachmann to deliver GOP responses to the State of the Union.

Now Republicans are complaining that CNN will actually put both of these speeches on the air. Why? Because airing both responses could make it seem like the GOP doesn’t have a unified message! Link.

Well, if you don’t like CNN airing both GOP responses to the SOTU, then why don’t you just cancel one of the response speeches?

ETA: Upon further review, it appears Bachmann was not officially selected by the GOP to give a response. Still, that’s not CNN’s problem.

Apparently America was founded upon diversity, where everyone’s color and language didn’t matter.

I can’t see how anyone could possibly honestly believe this garbage is true. It’s insane, the truth doesn’t matter WHATSOEVER to republicans, just sticking to the tribe.

Smart Republican idea of the day: trying to keep Michelle Bachmann off TV.

The GOP didn’t select Bachmann, she selected herself. Ryan is the GOP-sanctioned response. Bachmann just wanted some attention, so she unilaterally decided to issue a video response of her own. This just highlights the rift the TEA Party is creating within the GOP, and it will grow wider in the run up to the 2012 election. I hope the Teapers decide to run their own ticket, and cannibalize the right wing. Let’s you and him fight.

Bachman: “we also know that the very founders that wrote those documents worked tirelessly until slavery was no more in the United States.”

Sure, some might think that’s incorrect, seeing as how some of the founders owned slaves, but that just gave them the time to work against slavery!

How can you work against slavery when you’re busy picking your own cotton?

How can you work against slavery when you’re busy being dead?

CMC fnord!

My great-grandmother was known in the family to have never cussed nor touched liquor. She died some forty years ago, but I am confident she still maintains her commitment.

It was thoughtful for the article to note that the slavery comments were 9 minutes into the video. They must have realized that no one could stomach watching the whole thing trying to find it.

Worse, that’s part two of three!

Forty-five whole minutes of potentially hilarious comedy and/or horrifying brain damage.

CMC fnord!

She didn’t do this on her own. She was invited by the Tea Party Express to do this. You really have to wonder if the GOP thinks gaining a neutered House was worth the cost they are paying and will continue to pay for the foreseeable future for unleashing these Tea Party imbeciles on the rest of us.

Wow! I watched from the 9:00 to the 12:00 mark. I don’t think that I could have put that much revisionist history together in so short a time if I tried. Other than that JQ Adams was a against slavery I don’t think there was a single accurate fact in the whole thing.

Then as the final clincher she capped it off with
Instead of looking back at the weaknesses and stains of America let’s look back at the greatness of America
Which is real easy to do if you totally mangle history the way she did.

Looking forward is of course not even an option.

Hard to do when you’re always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom!

Paul Ryan’s assertion that we are at a “tipping point” with regards to our deficit. Hey moron, who put us into this position to begin with?

The US had a balanced budget before Dubya took over. Then, some Islamofanatics took down a couple of buildings in NYC, and then the US spends hundreds of billions to seek revenge. Talk about “bang for the buck”. Al-Quadia probably spent $50,000 to initiate the attacks, which, in the end, cost the US 500 billion. That is a 10 million times return on their investment!

Republicans are such hypocritical windbags, I can’t hardly stand it.

The pitch was excellent, and you knocked it out of the park!

Well, it isn’t like Paul Ryan has been around Washington for the last ten years to oppose things like huge tax cuts, TARP or the auto bailout…

oh, wait, he was elected in 1999, voted for the tax cuts, TARP, and the auto bail-out.
