Give the city’s residents a voice in how their city is administered, presumably. I really don’t understand why anyone would lie about those graduation or employment rates. I mean, 60% and 14% are terrible.

That tweet was actually kind of funny. Normally I’d be inclined to forgive something like this as a careless oversight of one of his staff members not knowing where the tweet came from. But given Trump’s history… total dick move and NOT deserving of ANY forgiveness at all.
So, it might appear, then, that the further right one is, the less sense of humor. Hmmm. Well, that would mean that the more liberal/left you are…Ha! Now, that’s funny!
They already have that under self rule laws passed by Congress.
There’s really no compelling reason for DC to have representation. This is not a case of the world changing and thus the country changing with the times. The reasons for keeping the capital out of Congress are just as valid now as they were in 1787. It’s not as if DC’s interests aren’t being looked out for. There is nothing DC reps couldn’t do that the other 535 aren’t already doing. It’s not like North Dakota, which would be pretty much forgotten if they didn’t have two Senators. Most of the politicians and officials live there and fight for DC’s interests.
