Stupid Republican idea of the day

Here ya go.

You’re welcome! (Good luck concealing one of these, but I guess a looooong jacket…)

Pistol (in this sort of context) is meant to refer to a semi-auto pistol.

Ah, yes! How Aggies play Russian Roulette.

A pistol has a single chamber integral with the barrel. A revolver (a revolving pistol) has numerous chambers in a cylinder that revolves to line up its chambers one at a time with the barrel. That sort of distinction is important to the nutters, rather than simply using the term handgun.

Are you sure? Because I thought they used a classic revolver like this one.

Does ‘church’ include ‘mosque’?

Peter Sagal, host of Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me, made a pledge time promo in which he suggests they cash in on the Hamilton phenom by his dressing in a waistcoat and wig and discussing late-18th-century monetary policy. The imaginary audience booed the lack of hip hop.

This might not be a stupid idea.

And the Snopes article that assures us that the black churches burned wasn’t unusual

Well, it says “church or place of worship.”

Which with a little creative interpretation might also allow for militias in brothels.

Surely only if the brothel is on a boat ?

I wonder how fast they decide to repeal it when there are black militias guarding their churches. Probably have a few major busts of inner city churches, accusing them of hiring gang members and ‘brandishing’ firearms. Then of course, someone (black) is going to be shot.

Well, if you claimed to be a South-Indian Hindu, or whatever they are down there, considering the way they decorated their temples, calling a brothel a place of worship might not seem to be a major reach.

Uh… does it matter who that person is, or what they’re doing at the time?

well probably not. But I can’t do much about that. So I’d rather those people at least have the option of refusing to treat rather than compelling them to do so and messing up the heads of already vulnerable people because of their religious beliefs. Of the two choices, I think that’s at least the better option.

You know what altars are for.

No need to be all exotic about it. Greeks and Romans had temples attended by holy prostitutes, for some divinities. Venereal diseases took an entirely different (but etymologically appropriate) dimension I suppose

Alterations?

Altar egos?

Altar boys. That is why the top of an altar is at perfect bend-'em-over height.

Reading the law (pdf), all it says is

And nowhere is the scope of duties specified. Other than to say that it includes

So it sounds as if Church says that executing gays falls under the duties its Security team, then you’re free to do so.

I’d actually be interested in hearing Bricker’s reading of the limits of the law.
