There are no laws against blasphemy, but let’s be real. The government only decided to arrest him after the video created a stir. Dealing with SNL producers and cast would be easy. How many drug law violations do you think are committed in that building on a weekly basis? The government could get a warrant to search the place in a heartbeat.
Do you ever pause before hitting the “Submit Reply” button, and think “Is what I just typed a fact?”
Apologies if you’re way ahead of us and do actually fact-check your posts. In which case you’re diabolically clever, and are probably thinking “Aha, now I’ve got them! I’ll dig deep into my fantasies and present my own spin as a fact. And those ignorant “Fighting Ignorance” posters will never know the difference. Bwaaah-ha-ha!”
And that’s more bullshit. SNL makes fun of things that are forefront in American culture. Christianity and the incredibly stupid movie that skit parodies are most certainly in Americans’ faces every day. Besides, you think SNL never made fun of terrorists?
This is just one more in a series of bitches and moans from Christians that people exercising their freedom of speech aren’t exercising them the way they would prefer. And I just say a jolly,“tough shit,” to that.
You want more parodies of Muslims on SNL? Then get a job on the show as a writer. Or embrace the free market and produce your own stupid show.
Here’s a bit of a switch: Not-quite-so-stupid conservative Republican, former Reagan and GHWBush official, rants against “pandering to morons and bigots and racists and all the sort of stuff that defines today’s Republican coalition”.
The Republicans learn no lessons except that when they fail, it is because they didn’t try hard enough, they weren’t ruthless enough, they didn’t go far enough to the right.
And they will claim this same lesson when they fail again this year. They didn’t have a “True [del]Scotsman[/del] CONSERVATIVE” running, their party failed them, all the RINOs and phony conservatives failed them, et al.
Some will no doubt say this. But I’m telling you, freepers are at most evenly split Trump/Cruz. I think they might even be leaning Trump. And most of that is BECAUSE it hurts the GOPe (their term for the establishment). They feel betrayed by the GOP. So it will be a “their party failed them” not a “No true conservative” for those folks.
I honestly believe the best path for this country IS for the Republican party to split. Then the moderates can return to the party and make it more centrist, and the loons, CINOs (Christians In Name Only) and other rabid types can create a new party.
On a local scale, that might make the Republicans more competitive in areas that are currently solid Democrat, and there would be a choice in areas where the Republicans currently dominate. Locally, I expect it would remain a two party system, but which two of the three would vary.
Then on a national scale (ie, Congress), the moonbats are going to meet FAIL head on trying to get their agenda pushed without help and the more moderate Republican Party can actually participate in governing the nation instead of being held hostage to the crazy.
