While it’s been nicknamed the Bathroom Bill, the bill did more than regulate bathrooms. It also makes it illegal for NC cities to have anti-discrimination regulations, other than for employment by the city government.
I know. Not sure how that’s involved in the federal suit though. That simply reserves the power to the state instead of local governments.

The suit is going to be epic. This is such a weird issue because the fundamental thing they’re all arguing about is a system of segregation. We have segregated restrooms and locker rooms for the different genders. Fitting a civil rights issue on top of that is torturous for both sides. It’s a bit like arguing over whether biracial people can have their choice of whites-only or blacks-only restrooms. It’s bizarre, no matter which side you’re on.
This isn’t a segregation-only issue. Its a civil rights issue where you are either forced by the state to live a lie or be allowed the dignity of choosing your lifestyle. Where it touches upon segregation is more like the forced exclusion of blacks from water fountains and lunch tables than the voluntary one between sexes for bathrooms. As long as you continue to see trans men as not men, or trans women and not women, you’ll never get it
I was on an airplane once, it only had one bathroom. Are they gonna have to have six now, or just not fly over N. Carolina? 'Course, Greyhounds don’t have bathrooms at all, so I guess that’s still OK.
