Stupid Republican idea of the day

Well, mainly adaher, who’s about 40 watts short of a low-watt bulb.

The U.S. has the 2nd highest per-capita incarceration rate in the world, behind only the tiny Seychelles. But Tom Cotton (Senator-Arkansas) Thinks America Isn’t Locking Enough People Up.

Cotton “argued that policy goals like reducing mandatory minimum sentences, restoring voting rights for felons and reducing barriers to employment for ex-offenders are misguided and dangerous.”

You know how the Senate hates competition

It’s as if Mike Teevee were elected president.

This probably belongs in the Malicious Republicans thread but I’ll post it here.

An amendment making it harder for federal contractors to discriminate against LGBT workers passed the House with a vote of 217-206.

Or rather it would have passed, had the man in the Speaker’s chair followed the rules and pounded his gavel when time expired. Instead he kept the vote open improperly for several more minutes while GOP whips hassled members who weren’t anti-LGBT enough (perhaps blackmailing them about their own sexual indiscretions?) while Democrats chanted “Shame Shame Shame.”

When the vote finally went to 212-213, then the gavel was pounded.

 What kind of child-porn is he making that involves machine guns and explosives?! This rather pushes the Rule 34 envelope!

If you have to ask…

Oklahoma Republicans are going to impeach the president. They mean it this time. Not because of Obamacare, but because of - you guessed it - bathrooms. Because they are biblically wrong. Or something.

State legislatures seem to have remarkably few actual local issues to deal with. Lucky devils.

God damn that article is so full of stupid:

Hmm… That term sounds vaguely familiar. Worked out so well for us last time, amIright?

I wonder what the door symbol should be for the “bigoted godbotherer” bathroom.

(if it were up to me, they’d open on a brick wall with a sign simply saying “Get over yourself.”)

A Facebook friend of mine shared this the other day:

Imgur

For those not inclined to click, the picture has suggested bathroom icons for male, female, and priests. To protect the children.

You’d think they’d be more concerned with problems like having to live in Oklahoma.

First off, doing something about that damned wind.

That “damn wind” has got a name-Maria, thank you very much!

Wrong musical.

Oh, that fixed your little painted wagon!

Kansas anti-abortion group wants potential political candidates to pledge to oppose human-animal hybrids.

Do they think that the Democrats are going to nominate Dr. Moreau or something?

They’re throwing stones from a glass house, as the sheep and cattle of Kansas can attest.
