Stupid Republican idea of the day

Very successfully, I might add!

Well, I wouldn’t have seen his latest nastiness, if he hadn’t been quoted.

His “nastiness” is to point out what a number of other people, including me, have pointed out. You post a lot in this thread, and your posts are almost exclusively links to really lousy articles. I don’t click on them. I’m not alone. Is that what you want your participation on this board to be? You can do better.

Shame, really. :stuck_out_tongue:

I agree he’s been a terrible governor, but if we want regular folks to run for office, then they need to be able to make ends meet. The way the system is set up, only the rich can afford to be in public office. It’s not fair at all for a middle class candidate to overcome the natural problems a middle class candidate faces when trying to run for high office and then have problems making ends meet in the process. That just deters all but the rich from running, which is what they want.

I’m a conservative poster, and at least for me, Daily Kos is a credible source. Did the Kos poster get the story wrong? Yes. The NY Times gets stories wrong in obvious ways too. Nothing wrong with posting them.

Of course partisan websites will be judged differently from more objective ones, but the good partisan websites link to better sources and the Kos post was no exception, linking to CNN.

Yes, when considering a story from a slanted site like Jezebel or Blaze, it is probably best to look at their sources and post the sources rather than the “analysis”. Though, the Blaze is itself a nice source of fresh, steaming, redolent stupid.

Mmm, mmmm! I do loves me a nice big plate of fresh steaming stupid!

That’s why I check this thread ten times a day…

As I type, the Senate is holding hearings on why the administration doesn’t say “radical Islam”.

Dammit, man, and I’d just got my eyeballs unrolled from the back of my skull!

On a related note, have you checked out that new documentary series about our current Senate currently running on CBS-BrainDead?

Why go to all the trouble and expense? Just release the findings and be done with it.

Of course, the administration never once mentioned “radical Christianity” in connection with, say, the Colorado Planned Parenthood shootings, either. Funnily enough, you never see Congress getting upset about that.

I’d rather have smart, responsible folks than regular ones, actually.

I’ve met people smarter than me, and would cheerfully vote for either of them.

Thank you for your support!

Gee, I wonder whose bright idea that was;

Yeah, that sounds about right.

Compassionate Conservatism in action:

Do they not care how they come across? Do they think that those kinds of responses make them likable?
What’s really scary is not just the fact that people like that can get into office, but that they can get there while being totally forthright and honest about their asshole-ishness.

The rich don’t have a monopoly on smart, responsible people.
