Stupid Republican idea of the day

For Conservatives, “Healing” is for everyone to go back to maintaining the status quo, where black people know their place and the police are minor demigods unless they mess with proper white folks.

Why, bless your heart, doesn’t that sound just like Starvin’Artist’s mythical 1960 where everyone went along to get along: “Why, hello, Officer Smirkey. I was just telling Bud and Cathy here that colored folk aren’t any trouble at all, as long as you fix them a tall, cool glass of sweet tea while they’re cleanin’ an’ mowin’.
Well, see you at the nineteenth hole … or in the sand trap. [insert manly guffaw here]”

I find it difficult to imagine a game of golf with Starving Artist. Is that the game that involves knocking a ball around with paper towel tubes, trying to get the ball into a paper towel tube?

Let it go, man. Just let it go.

A Maine group called “Equal Rights, not Special Rights” wants to outlaw homosexuality in Maine. Not just gay marriage, but homosexuality.

Sarah Palin says the media needs to quit referring to Black Lives Matter as people, but as thugs.

Someone who was once fairly close to assuming the Vice Presidency of the United States is calling for thousands of Americans to be branded as non-humans.

It’s gonna take a while for that one to sink in for me.

By a narrow vote, the GOP platform committee decides to insist that federal lands be surrendered to the states.

It’s simultaneously comedic and tragic to see the party of Teddy Roosevelt declare that preserving our nation’s wild beauty is less important than corporate profit.

This is not your father’s [del]Buick[/del] Republican Party.

Yesterday, General Michael Flynn, potential Trump VP choice, said he was pro-choice. Today, he has changed his mind.

Yes, the states didn’t want the land because they couldn’t afford the oversight. The thread on the Bundy fiasco has some cites. So sending the land to the states is really a cover for corporate mining, timber and grazing/agriculture interests. The grazing rights payments to the BLM don’t cover their expenses in managing the lands.

C’mon Sarah . . . not even 3/5s of a people?

CMC fnord!

More GOP platform goodies:
Republican delegates unanimously adopted an amendment to their draft platform Monday morning that called pornography “a public health crisis” and a “public menace” that is destroying lives.”

You can have my porn, Republicans, when you pry it from my cold, dead, and sticky fingers.

They’re being forced to suck cock in Maine? Have to wear tight shorts, flip-flops, belly shirts and Elton John-type glasses? Force to redecorate? Carry little dogs around with them?

Or just being forced to accept that homosexuals can walk the streets just like humans? If that ain’t persecuting Christians, I don’t know what is. However could they bear it?

EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ME! NO RIGHTS FOR THEM!

The best argument for Atheism is being forced to spend 5 minutes with these mutts.

Amusing, since “thug” is the national epithet for “that person’s life* doesn’t* matter”.

She didn’t choose the thug hater life, it chose her.

Oh, thugs are human, to be sure. They’re people. Thugs are just bad people.

Jhirnee.

Per your link, HuffPo issued a correction:

It doesn’t read as if its Palin backtracking but as a HP mistake.

Oh. Never mind </Emily Litella>

I should know better than to take HuffPo reporting seriously. I shouldn’t have commented until I saw the quote verified by a better news source. I retract my previous expression of despair for the time being. I mean, she’s still stupid and hateful, but she at least didn’t call anyone sub-human.

It wasn’t just HuffPro. There were a LOT of places reporting the same thing this morning.
