I think the “old chestnut” is marshmallow’s brain.
Wow. That is spectacularly repulsive. I am not property at all, and I don’t see ANY way that liberals seem to think of me as “public property.”
Who’s he suing for the Orlando shootings?
He isn’t gay or Hispanic, so he doesn’t care.
I would have said “Their Own Property!” I want to maintain legal property rights in my body. No trespassing! (And no quartering of troops.)
(This is one of the jokes I use to say that conservatives ought to be in favor of a woman’s right to an abortion: she has property rights in her own body, and can evict unwanted tenants for not paying rent.)
Me: “In the 50s and early 60s adults dressed like adults and students knew the difference between they’re, there and their.”
SDMB Moron: “ZOMG!!! Starvey wants blacks to know their place and lynchings for those who don’t! Hell, he probably wants lynchings anyway, because reasons!!!”
There are some forms of stupidity and/or intentional dishonesty that take on a life of their own and simply refuse to die no matter how obvious they are. The idiotic claim that to acknowledge anything good about pre-counterculture America belies a desire for the return of racist policies is foremost among them.
See? Should have let it go.
Really, everyone who reads your posts is well aware of this fact.
The idiotic claim that we are somehow moving back to a better era by eliminating or reducing the rights of others is foremost among conservatives.
A person who tends to favor the status quo and is suspicious of change is “conservative”. Someone who want to turn back the clock is “reactionary”.
One minor detail that SA and his ilk tend to ignore is that while “pre-counterculture America” did make great economic and infrastructure strides (for certain elements of society, at least), it achieved them in spite of — or perhaps because of — income tax rates that would have Teahadists grabbing their grenade launchers and heading for their bunkers.
Do you think they knew the difference between a short and long cardboard ass tube?
The funny part about his quote is that if you took a conservative from say, 1890-ish, they’d blast SA and his lot for not learning Latin and for dressing poorly.
Who ever called you Starvey?
That’s one of the Seven Dwarves, from the fifties remake of Snow White, the one where they all kept their pants up.
Dopey OD’d?
You may say he’s some old crank
But he’s not the only one
They know some day you’ll join 'em
And the world will get orff their lawn !
